| Abstract: | Adaptation theory by Verschueren assumes language use as a continuous making of choice,which provides pragmatic translation a new perspective.Translation activity can be regarded as a continuous and complex making of choice and an adaptive process in the perspective of the theory.Based on the overview of Verschueren,this paper discusses the pragmatic value of the theory from three aspects:intercultural adaptation,salient adaptation,linguistic adaptation. |
