| 摘 要： | 耶鲁大学是世界著名大学，其发展道路独具特色：在保守中创新，在稳定中发展。耶鲁大学在培养目标上，坚持高起点，高定位，培养领袖人才；在教育上，坚持自由教育，坚持教学优先，本科学院第一；在管理上，坚持教授治校，大学内部分权，校友参与；在制度建设上，坚持学术自治与学术自由；在发展战略上，坚持优质第一，规模控制，累进变革。耶鲁大学文化品格的核心是保守。有了大学的保守，才使得大学创新型人才辈出，创新成果不穷。认识大学的保守文化，才会按规律办学，才会对大学的变革抱以合理的期待。

| Abstract: | Yale University is a world-class university. It has created a unique development route: it explores the creative ways in a conservative atmosphere and it seeks the continuous development in and for stability. It insists in training leaders in a democratic society. It keeps its liberal education tradition in a commercial society. It still focuses on undergraduate college and instruction as a research university. It has a decentralized administration system and its professors play important roles in administration. It desperately protects academic freedom and academic autonomy. It gives preference to quality over quantity growth. It controls development speed and prefers accumulated transformation to dramatic changes. The core of the cultural traditions of Yale University is conservatism. With conservatism the university prepares creative people and turns out discoveries. Only if we understand and are tolerate to the university conservatism, we can run the university according its own development rules and expect the changes of the university rationally. |
