基于字符纹理特性的车牌定位研究

摘    要:提出一种基于车牌区域字符特性和边界检测的车牌区域分割算法。算法首先通过灰度拉伸函数控制所拍摄到的图片的整体灰度,然后使用Sobe1垂直算子增强字符的垂直笔画特性,通过阈值分割和水平差分运算去除大部分的背景区域内容,再通过分别向水平方向和垂直方向投影,依据车牌区域字符的统计特性对候选区域逐一排除,最终实现车牌定位。

Abstract:In a car-license-plate-recognition system, license-plate location is a precondition to the whole recognition module. Various methods are used in the module. A license-plate location algorithm is based on the combination of edge detection and the characteristics of the characters on license plate, which detects the preprocess with an grayenhance function and enhances image with sobel vertical operators. With the segmented foreground of the image through threshold, It is highly possible to remove background with different operator, to search selected regions accorded with characteristics of the number plate, and to analyze/locate the position of the number plate from the selected regions. Finally the slope-candidate-rectangle-patches are projected vertically. As a result, the correct location of plate comes out.
