| 摘 要： | 当代图书馆是由工业文明向信息文明转型时期的图书馆。在近现代图书馆的基础上,当代图书馆应用当代信息技术在整个人类时空范围内组织信息和知识资源,通过实现信息资源在世界范围内无差别全面共享的方式实现人类信息和知识资源的充分开发和利用,从而推进信息和知识时代社会的发展和人类文明的历史进步,实现图书馆的社会价值和历史价值。与当代图书馆这一社会职能和历史功用相一致的当代图书馆精神,应该是一个由科学———人文精神、合作———共享精神、服务精神、求知精神和创新精神构成的精神整体。
