| Abstract: | This essay explores the gradual transfer from religon to secularity as reflected in early Chinese periodicals by a close study of Eastern Western Monthly Magazine,the earlist magazine in the contemporary China.By the above analysis,this essay attempts to prove that the change of the representa- tive magazines symbolizes the change of the whole society. |
