| Abstract: | The definitions of characteristic collection and core collection are outlined and discribed, and the problems involved in the current development of charateristic collection in college and university libraries are pointed out. The four core aspects of developing the characteristic collection are elaborated based on the collection development practice in the Library of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the strategies for developing the characteristic collection are proposed as well. |
