| 摘 要： | 当“近代早期书籍”(early modern book)遇上“数字工具”,它们会发生怎样的化学反应?关于这一议题,目前的讨论集中在两个层面:“获取”和“文本”。文章以早期英语图书在线、福尔杰莎士比亚图书馆等机构的数字化馆藏为例,对上述两个议题进行讨论。如果数字工具可以帮助我们拉远与书籍的距离,重新认识这一习以为常的事物,或许可以藉此学到一些意料之外的新知识。

| Abstract: | Discussions about“early modern books”and digital tools have tended to focus on one of two responses.One of the first things that people focus on is the amazing access that digital tools have given us to early modern works.Another has been in terms of text,and access is about text of course what we’re gaining access to is the ability to read texts.If we could use digital tools to estrange ourselves from our books,to defamiliarize what we think we know,we might learn something new about how they were made and how they are used. |
