| 摘 要： | 19世纪中期美国免费公共图书馆出现之前,图书馆发展历史出现了几种不同类型的"公共"图书馆,它们具备现代公共图书馆某些特征。文章对这种几种图书馆的历史与特征进行梳理,指出它们奠定了现代免费公共图书馆的基础。
