| Abstract: | Open Access is increasingly considered a logical and hopeful solution to ease the burden on library budgets, as well as a new way of dissemination of research findings. In this article, the author introduces the definition, types and advantages of the Open Access models. Open Access may lead to some influences on library acquisition and library services, as well as possible changes in the role of the library. The author also offers her personal opinions on numerous actions that liraries can take in support of the new models of scholarly communication. |
