| 摘 要： | 图书馆是重要的公益性文化机构．在保障人民群众的基本文化权益、实现社会公平正义、提高公民的综合素质、促进民主法治建设、增强民族的发展活力、实现人与自然和谐相处等方面发挥着重要的作用，在构建社会主义和谐社会中扮演着重要的角色。从四个方面论述了图书馆在构建和谐社会中的作用，并就如何发展图书馆事业、促进和谐社会建设提出了一些针对性措施。
