| 摘 要： | 图书馆是社会阅读不可忽视的重要中坚力量。开展社会阅读，推动社会文明进步，构建和谐社会，是图书馆自觉维护公民文化权益并为之提供服务的责任，是国家赋予图书馆的时代重任。文章从社会阅读的特点和意义、目前我国社会阅读的现状、图书馆开展社会阅读的必要性和措施等方面进行了论述，力图与同仁们达成共识，以此推动并深入地开展图书馆的社会阅读服务。参考文献6。
