| Abstract: | Theory research and practice are two important topics of science development. Practice is the starting point and the objective of theory research. Meanwhile, theory research is the pharos of practice and guide practice. Based on retrospect and investigation of the interaction between theory research and practice on both conventional and current library and information science, the paper presents the main characteristics of the library and information science development. At last, a great prospect is expected for the development of library and information science. |
