| Abstract: | Purpose/significance]Researching and exploring the reasonable renovation or expansion design of the existing library buildings to make them fit the operation mode of the smart libraries.Method/process]Starting from the influencing factors and architectural characteristics of libraries in different times,this paper expounded the development trends of library buildings.Taking the three times of renovation or expansion of Peking University Library from 1996 to 1998,2003 to 2005 and 2014 to 2020 as examples,this paper analyzed its plane combination and studied the effective architectural design techniques of renovation or expansion.Result/conclusion]The architectural entities of the smart libraries will not disappear,but the internal space will be redistributed. |
