It seems that metaphors to writing is what salt to cooking ─ and more. In this paper, we are attempting to drag it to a "down-to-earth" tool to be handy to common learners by quoting examples from various styles to show how it can be used to increase language power and how important it is for ordinary Chinese learners of English to get familiar with and learn to employ metaphors and other figurative speeches in writing. Smart home is a promising solution to improving the quality of people＇s life. Much work has been done in the field, but most of these solutions are just based on home gateway, leaving much to be improved. One of its defects is the relatively high energy consuming and its radiation, and the other is that it is not available to the old home appliances which fail to access the internet. Full use of the low energy consuming characteristic of the Zigbee wireless sensor network, a completely new smart home solution is put forward in this paper. Without need of a home gateway and any modification for the currently used family appliances, the method uses the Zigbee coordinator as the central controller and the controllers of appliances as the end devices of Zigbee. It can realize a comfortable and smart home. Experiments show that the scheme proposed is feasible and it will be no doubt to be able to improve the quality of people＇s daily life. 相似文献

At the Open University Malaysia the rush occurs when confirming offered subjects and choosing face-to-face meeting timetable.Most students rushed to be earliest to ensure choice slots in the timetable are obtained. Available I.T.resources such as Internet bandwidth and servers cannot cope with these short-term sustained peak demands.Unless these peak demands are met,however,online services will slow down drastically resulting in long queues of users waiting to be served.Providing excess capacity,if at all possible,to ensure these short duration peak demands can be met would not be cost-effective since most of the time these resources are not utilised.This paper will look at some cost-effective approaches to meeting these short-term peak demands. 相似文献
