While users’ discontinuance of use has posed a challenge for social media in recent years, there is a paucity of knowledge on the relationships between different dimensions of overload and how overload adversely affects users’ social media discontinuance behaviors. To address this knowledge gap, this study employed the stressor–strain–outcome (SSO) framework to explain social media discontinuance behaviors from an overload perspective. It also conceptualized social media overload as a multidimensional construct consisting of system feature overload, information overload, and social overload. The proposed research model was empirically validated via 412 valid questionnaire responses collected from Facebook users. Our results indicated that the three types of overload are interconnected through system feature overload. System feature overload, information overload, and social overload engender user exhaustion, which in turn leads to users’ discontinued usage of social media. This study extends current technostress research by demonstrating the value of the SSO perspective in explaining users’ social media discontinuance. 相似文献

Standard-setting organizations (SSOs) are collectively self-governed industry associations, formed by innovators and implementers. They are a key organizational form to agree on and manage technical standards, and form the foundation for many technological and economic sectors. We develop a model of endogeneous SSO participation that highlights different incentives for joining (namely licensing, learning, and implementation). We analyze equilibrium selection and conduct comparative statics for a policy parameter that is related to implementer-friendly Intellectual Property Rights policies, or alternatively, minimum viable implementation. The results can reconcile existing evidence, including that many SSO member firms are small. The extent of statutory participation of implementers in SSO control has an inverted U-shape effect on industry profits and welfare. 相似文献

如何准确分析用户行为,向用户提供满意的网页信息,一直以来都是个性化信息推荐系统设计的目标。本文在分析现有个性化信息推荐模型的基础上,针对以往研究在推荐兴趣时仅根据语义相关度进行协助性信息推荐,而忽略用户行为规律所包含的潜在兴趣信息的不足,尝试提出一个结合Web语义挖掘和FP-tree规则发现技术的个性化信息推荐模型。该模型利用本体对语义的明确化描述,在挖掘用户行为信息时获取用户兴趣偏好的语义信息,并利用FP-tree技术根据以获取的语义信息推理出用户兴趣行为模式,从而在信息推荐时不仅能准确理解用户兴趣偏好,也能根据用户潜在兴趣规律,推荐给用户更全面的网页信息。 相似文献

As access to information becomes more intensive in society, a great deal of that information is becoming available through diverse channels. Accordingly, users require effective methods for accessing this information. Conversational agents can act as effective and familiar user interfaces. Although conversational agents can analyze the queries of users based on a static process, they cannot manage expressions that are more complex. In this paper, we propose a system that uses semantic Bayesian networks to infer the intentions of the user based on Bayesian networks and their semantic information. Since conversation often contains ambiguous expressions, the managing of context and uncertainty is necessary to support flexible conversational agents. The proposed method uses mixed-initiative interaction (MII) to obtain missing information and clarify spurious concepts in order to understand the intention of users correctly. Substantial real cases can be formed in current online medical platforms, constituting potentially rich commercial medical value. In order to obtain the value, it is necessary to mine the preference for user perceived cancer risk in online medical platforms. However, user preference in the platforms varies with medical inquiry text environments, and a user's disease-specific online medical inquiry text environment would also affect his/her behavioral decisions in real time. In this sense, considering the inner relations between different contexts and user preferences under different diseases-specific inquiry text environments and integrating early cancer texts will facilitate the exploration on the law of preference for user perceived cancer risk. Therefore, in this paper, the matrix decomposition and Labeled-LDA models are expanded to propose a context-based method to access the preference for user perceived cancer risk. Firstly, modeling on the relationship between user preferences and information in multi-dimensional context is carried out, and the universal method of integrating multi-dimensional contextual information with user preferences is analyzed. Moreover, more accurate user references were obtained under the multi-dimensional text space and multi-dimensional disease space. Secondly, the similarity relationships between all disease-specific online medical inquiries and early cancer texts are used to obtain user perceived cancer risk, thus knowing the online medical inquiry texts of user cognized diseases and perceiving the cancer risk. Lastly, by accessing the user preferences under different disease topics and user perceived cancer risk in multi-dimensional contexts, the preference for user perceived cancer risk is obtained in a more accurate way. Based on the large-volume real-world dataset, the relationship between each context and user preferences is assessed, and it is concluded that the method proposed in this paper is superior to MF-LDA method in obtaining the preference for user perceived cancer risk. This indicates that the proposed method not only expresses user perceived risk, but also clearly expresses the characteristics of user's preference.
