学生的身体在学校中有着种种的遭遇,成为被规训与被控制的对象。学校对学习的关注和对身体之外事物的关注,超过了对学生身体的关注。学生的身体在教育中变得不堪重负、没有自由、受到伤害。当然,学生身体也会对学校的规训与控制作出种种反抗与抵制。有必要建立身体教育学,对学校中身体的教育意义进行重新反思与深入研究。  相似文献

在福柯的研究中,学校不单是知识传授的教育场所,更是一所典型的规训机构,是权力运作的重要场域。身体与时间不再仅归属于个人意义,微观权力将身体与时间置于学校的统整中,成为学校规训教育的客体实在与策略。在精细训练的身体与严格控制的时间共同的耦合作用下,学校规训教育的图景形成,学校教育出现了对身体的漠视与遮蔽、对时间的割裂与挤占以及对个体的惩罚与规训的教育异化现象。学校教育由规训走向关怀的可行之路是:关心身体,坚持育人为本的学校教育价值观念;关照时间,构建多样灵活的学校教育管理机制;关怀自我,实现体贴个体的学校教育生存美学。  相似文献

"规训"与"身体规训"是两个含义丰富的概念,需要重新梳理和界定。身体规训与体罚、自由、尊重、养成教育等相关问题存在着内在联系与区别。身体规训不同于体罚,它们在实施目的和实施手段方面都有着本质差异;身体规训与自由之间存在必然的张力,它是人类真正实现自由的平衡砝码;身体规训与尊重必须保持辩证统一,只有两者相互限制,才能更好地体现"以人为本"的价值理念;身体规训与养成教育是外在强化与自我内化的完美结合,它们需要在教育中相互结合、共同发展。身体规训的合理性因素体现在以下方面:身体规训意味着人类文明的进程;身体规训意味着生产力的提高和社会经济的发展;教育的发展蕴藏着身体规训的潜台词。  相似文献

在"强国保种"思想的引导下,学生的身体形塑成为近代中国改造国民性的焦点。近代小学生的身体因政府、舆论和学校规章的外部规训和学生的自我内在塑造而形塑。就外部规训来看,从清末"癸卯学制"颁布开始,政府对学生的身体实施理念与政策双向控制,媒体杂志、学校则分别采取舆论及制定规章来规范学生身体。就自我内在塑造来看,小学生的日记则曝露了其对身体及其身体形塑已经有了比较全面的认知:他们坚持锻炼身体并把自己的身体与国家联系在一起;注重卫生习惯培养;面对体罚,强调自省诫勉;注重仪容,穿着大方。近代小学生身体形塑过程呈现出以下特点:内塑转外塑,多重合力;细致化与科学化趋势明显;适塑同步,严禁体罚;全民参与,辐射性强。近代小学生身体形塑效果显著,促进了中国近代教育的转型。  相似文献

Classroom management and discipline are primary concerns of many teachers, especially beginners. The current reform movement in mathematics education advocates a classroom atmosphere and teaching strategies that are substantially different than those that characterize the traditional approach to school mathematics. This paper considers the problems involving discipline and control that arose in the course of a beginning high school teacher's acculturation into the school mathematics tradition. The analysis relates these discipline and control problems to certain tensions and contradictions in the school mathematics tradition and suggests how efforts to cope with these problems serve to reflexively validate the tradition. In addition, the paper suggests some possible reasons for why discipline and control, and not pedagogical content knowledge, are primary concerns for many teachers. Finally, the paper considers how the conditions that foster the emphasis on discipline and control in the school mathematics tradition stand as obstacles in the face of the current reform movement.  相似文献

In this article we consider how broad shifts in social relations over the past 30 years have given rise to new social control regimes in US public schools. We argue that the contemporary mechanisms of control engendered by mass incarceration and post‐industrialization have re‐shaped school discipline. To illustrate contemporary discipline in the ‘New American School,’ we discuss the emergence of police officers and technological surveillance in schools. These two strategies of school social control facilitate the link between courts and schools, and expose students to both the salience of crime control in everyday life and to the demands of workers in a post‐industrial world. By incorporating police officers and technological surveillance into the school safety regime, schools shape the experiences of students in ways that reflect modern relationships of dependency, inequality, and instability vis‐à‐vis the contemporary power dynamics of the post‐industrialist labor market and the neoliberal state.  相似文献

Scholars in education have drawn our attention to the ways in which social power and control manifests in the process of knowledge production in education institutions especially through school curriculum. In this paper, I analyse school textbooks along with classroom instruction events and everyday practices in a mother-tongue school in Nepal. Drawing on the concept of ‘legitimate knowledge’, this paper discusses mother-tongue education as a struggle over symbolic resources, whereby familiarity with ‘daily life in the locality’ is discursively drawn upon to articulate mother tongue as an effective pedagogy and legitimate knowledge. The paper argues that the introduction of mother tongue in the school curriculum is, therefore, more than an addition of new language. It is a process of negotiating what it means to ‘know’ things in school. In doing so, this paper illustrates a dynamic process of re-signification of local languages, knowledge and identities that is underway.  相似文献

This paper examines the effect of school social class composition on pupil learner identities in British primary schools. In the current British education system, high‐stakes testing has a pervasive effect on the pedagogical relationship between teachers and pupils. The data in this paper, from ethnographic research in a working‐class school and a middle‐class school, indicate that the effect of the ‘testing culture’ is much greater in the working‐class school. Using Bernsteinian theory and the concept of the ‘ideal pupil’, it is shown that these pupils’ learner identities are more passive and dominated by issues of discipline and behaviour rather than academic performance, in contrast to those in the middle‐class school. While this study includes only two schools, it indicates a potentially significant issue for neo‐liberal education policy where education is marketised and characterised by high‐stakes testing, and schools are polarised in terms of social class.  相似文献

The importance of non-school educational stimuli which arise in “normal” everyday life (mainly through experience and “learning from life”) and the contribution of such stimuli to the educational development of young people are often underestimated. The educational value of the widely differing casual educational structures in family and peer relationships is often not fully appreciated in educational research until such structures are combined with formal school education. So far, researchers have only just begun to explore the value of informal education and to venture beyond the “traditional” limitation of empirical educational research in Germany to formal, institutionally organised education and competence acquisition processes for pupils. In recent years, attention has not only been directed towards the family as an independent place of education—studies have also focused on real life informal interaction situations in peer relationships and their importance as significant educational factors in the context of unsupervised child daytime activities. The researchers tend to regard the family as a “different type of educational sphere” and peer relationships as social interactions between equals with considerable educational potential, involving social and cultural exchange processes which constitute “everyday education” and which differ in their effects depending on the milieu. In view of the enormous differences in the way in which children and young people are integrated into family and peer-based everyday situations, it is important to point out the high educational significance of family and peer relationships for informal education, and this must always be analysed in relation to the social milieu of the family of origin and the type of school attended by the young people. The existing research initiatives and results are discussed here in relation to various research questions. The varied considerations in relation to the significance and impact of peer relationships and the existing approaches adopted in research serve as a starting point for further suggestions for future research, and these desirable new directions in research are then discussed from a theoretical and methodological perspective.  相似文献
