No one really knows who bred the first cats, much later called Siamese,or where they were bred, but there are many stones that suggest that the Siamese originated in southeast Asia. When they first became the Palace and Temple cats of Siam, which is present-day Thailand, they were described as pure black cats with yellow eyes.Over centuries, locked up inside of a palace in Bangkok, they were bred by unknown people into a cat closely resembling the present-day  相似文献

The structure phase transformations of graphite and carbon black induced by pulsed laser were studied in this paper.Under irradiation with laser beam of 1.06 μm wavelength and power density of 106 W·cm-2,both graphite structure and carbon black structure were changed obviously. The results of Raman analyses and Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM)observations show that graphite transforms into nanodiamond about 5 nm and carbon black is graphitized. It is demonstrated that graphite is the intermediate phase in the transformation from carbon black to diamond, and graphite is easier to transform into diamond by laser irradiation than carbon black.  相似文献

This thesis focus on the analysis of the motive of the two murders made by Bigger Thomas, a black man. The black people's miserable living condition is one of the reasons why the two murders happened. The white's bias towards the black is also responsible for them. Bigger Thomasg deformed, distorted personality is also part of the explanations for the murders.  相似文献

The different types of tea depend upon the region in which it is grown, harvesting time and the procedure of processing.Basically, there are four major classes of tea:white, oolong, green and black tea. The white tea has very low content of caffeine and appears a light color,as the name also indicates and a mild flavor.Due to the presence of high amount of healthy chemicals,it is helpful in fighting skin-related health problems and in getting a fair color of skin.  相似文献

It has been a long debate between the semantic relativists and the semantic universalists. The relativity semanticists believe that there are as many conceptual systems as there are languages, while the universal semanticists hold the view that language is a single conceptual system. Color words are frequently adopted as an evidence or counter-evidence. In the paper, the four English color words"white, black, green, red"will be contrasted with those of Chinese"白,黑,绿,红". Through the contrast, a tentative conclusion is drawn that the weak version of the semantic universality is probably more acceptable.  相似文献

In the light of Ф-mapping method and the relationship between entropy and the Euler characteristic, the intrinsic topological structure of entropy of Kerr black holes is studied. From the Ganss-Bonnet-Chem theorem, it is shown that the entropy of Kerr black hole is determined by singularities of the Killing vector field of spacetime. These singularities naturally carry topological numbers, Hopf indices and Brouwer degrees, which can also be viewed as topological quantization of entropy of Kerr black holes. Specific results S = A/4 for non-extreme Kerr black holes and S = 0 for extreme ones are calculated independently by using the above-mentioned methods.  相似文献

Toni Morrison presents how the white culture crashed on the black people and changed their values in The Bluest Eye.The tragedy story of black girl Pecola reveals that the negative impact of white culture is the major reason for distorted and deformed values of black people.Besides exposing the astonishing reality of black people’s existence,Toni Morrison also explores the way to resist pressures from white culture and keep black people’s mental independence.  相似文献

Phosphorus in energy storage has received widespread attention in recent years. Both the high specific capacity and ion mobility of phosphorus may lead to a breakthrough in energy storage materials. Black phosphorus, an allotrope of phosphorus, has a sheet-like structure similar to graphite. In this review, we describe the structure and properties of black phosphorus and characteristics of the conductive electrode material, including theoretical calculation and analysis. The research progress in various ion batteries, including lithium-sulfur batteries, lithium–air batteries, and supercapacitors, is summarized according to the introduction of black phosphorus materials in different electrochemical applications. Among them, with the introduction of black phosphorus in lithium-ion batteries and sodium-ion batteries, the research on the properties of black phosphorus and carbon composite is introduced. Based on the summary, the future development trend and potential of black phosphorus materials in the field of electrochemistry are analyzed.  相似文献

Chaidamu Basin(柴达木盆地) is in the west of China. It covers an area(地区) of 220,000 square kilometres(平方公里). The number of salt lakes(盐湖) is more than twenty in it. Chaerhan(察尔汗) Salt Lake is the largest in this area. If you get here, you will find that in the lake there is no water but a thick layer(层) of salt. You can walk in it without difficulty, and cars can come and go across it. The thickest layer of salt in this basin is about fifty metres thick. People tried their best to use the salt to build houses, shops, highways(公路) and so on. What's more, a new railway has been built in recent years over the thick layer of salt. When the farmers saw the train over there, they were full of joy. An expert said that there was more than  相似文献

The present study establishes the fact that effective information processing is dependent on the learning techniques one adopts. A sample of 100 students in the age group from 13 to 17 including boys and girls were chosen. They were divided into two groups of control and experimental. To the experimental group, certain specific learning techniques were taught for a period of six months. The same group was tested taking blood samples to study the neuro transmitter serotonin levelshenme before and after adopting learning techniques. Results of the study proved that there is significant relationship between learning techniques and the information processing ability of an individual.  相似文献

Colour
Colour does influence our moods; there is no doubt about it. A yellow room makes most people feel more cheerful and more relaxed than a dark green one; a red dress brings warmth and cheer to the saddest winter days. On the other hand, black is depressing. During the Beijing Olympic Games, t was witnessed that Chinese athlets put on a successful performance and broke many records.Meanwhile, it was the same as the past Games that there were many great pities we have to keep in mind. Because of the hated competition of athletics, the Games took on the performance of perfection, as well as greatness of Pity. In a sense, the pity is one of the indispensable attractions of athletics.Actually, it is the pity that allows us to fully appreciate what a successful life is,  相似文献

Generally, there are two dimensions in philosophy. One views spirit over matter and the other, the other way around. The former's vision of life is philosophical idealism, that is,a belief that the ultimate reality is of ideas rather than of matter. It holds that all physical objects(matter)are but imperfect copies of metaphysical archetypes or patterns(ideal or the spirit). Thus, the moralistic connotation of this world view is that the ideal is better than the actual;in terms of authority, spirit overpowers matter in its manipulation of human life. The Color Purple is a story about how spirit retards, changes, saves… in one word, determines a black woman's life.To be specific, this paper will examine how Alice Walker's spirit-oriented philosophy, infused in her treatment of the whole story, effects the protagonist's idealistic initiation into liberation and selfhood through the change of belief.  相似文献

NOVEMBER 17th is an important day for black cats in Italy. An animal rights (权益) group has named that day as "Black Cat Day" to stop the killing of thousands of the black cats. Why do people hate the animal so much? It is because people believe black cats bring bad luck if they walk across your path.  相似文献

British history has been a history of invasion. The birth of English language is a result of invasions of the British Isles over many hundreds of years. Throughout British history there were four major invasions, namely, the Roman Occupation, the Anglo-Saxon Invasion, the Viking Raids and the Norman Conquest, which had significant influence on English language.  相似文献

Alice Walker is one of the prominent American writers in American women’s literature and black literature in 1950s-1960s. Everyday Use is regarded as Alice Walker’s best-written short story. The prevailing opinion among the critics about this story is that Dee is the traitor of black American’s cultural heritage, and the mother and Maggie are the hope of true value of the African Americans’ tradition and heritage; however, after considering the historical and cultural background of the story, we may safely come to the conclusion that Dee actually took the first step toward the awakening of self-consciousness of the African Americans women.  相似文献
