美国当代著名的翻译理论家尤金·奈达提出了“功能对等”的翻译标准,他主张让译文和原文在语言的功能上对等,而不是在语言的形式上对应。翻译作为一种实践活动,在操作过程中很难达到完全对等,但是通过一些方法可以让译文达到比较高的层次。本文主要先阐述英汉翻译中不对等性的定义,从词汇、语序、思维差异、文化差异等4个方面阐述了英汉翻译中存在的不对等现象,而且以具体实例为切入点,提出在翻译过程中如何处理好对等与不对等的辩证关系,以求达到最佳的翻译效果。 相似文献

汉语词典对“对等”一词的定义不一致。《现代汉语词典》《当代汉语通用词典》和《现代汉语辞海》的定义只有一个。《新华字典》和《高级汉语大词典》的定义有两个。一个与上面3部词典的定义相同,另一个与上面3部词典的定义不一样,将“对等“解释为”大体对等”。“对等翻译”被视为中国翻译界的理论经典和金科玉律,译自奈达及当代西方翻译理论家的理论术语、意义为“对当”的equivalent。“对等翻译”原理受到中国学术精深的翻译理论家的强烈反对,他们认为翻译中存在不可译,翻译不可能对等。“对等”翻译论者引用《高级汉语大词典》的定义反驳说,汉语“对等”即大体对等,非绝对对等,使受到批评的“对等翻译”理论继续流行。 相似文献

社会的不断发展让商务英语的重要性日益凸显,但是商务英语翻译中依然存在一些问题。功能对等理论为商务英语的翻译提供了理论依据,从文章中的翻译实例可以看出商务英语在词汇和句式方面都有自身的特点,而功能对等理论中的四个对等理论在商务英语翻译中有着诸多应用。彼得·纽马克提出了“语义翻译”和“交际翻译”的翻译策略,商务英语的翻译可以在功能对等理论的指导下采用这两个策略,从而提高翻译准确度。 相似文献

词汇空缺（lexical gap）是指原语词汇所载的文化信息在译语中没有其“对等语”或“对应语”。英汉民族文化的不同必然导致词汇系统的不同,进而必然使得英汉词语和意义难以一一对应从而产生词汇或某一词义“空缺”现象。例如,Tower ofBarbe（l巴别）。《圣经》上说,上帝在那座城搅乱了人类的语言,把他们分散到世界各地,因此这座城叫做巴别（巴别在希伯来语中与混乱发音相似）。现常喻指“空想,空中楼阁”。用Tower of Barbel代指空中楼阁这一现象为英语所特有,在汉语中则存在着空缺。英语和汉语属于不同的语系,它们都有自身的特点,英语是表音文字,注意听觉感受,汉语是表意文字,注重视觉类别。除此以外,英语和汉语的构词法、语法规则和表现手法也不同。因此,由于英汉词汇的语音特征和文字特征不同导致词汇空缺,在英汉互译时没有对等的词汇。 相似文献

During interview with English majors, it was found that a majority of students expressed disappointment with their experience of English literature classes. Students' dislike of learning English literature appears to be the major problem of teaching English literature in China. Reader response approach is a good way to solve this problem. In this paper, I explain the rationale behind the reader response approach, such as its origin, definition, features, assumptions, and strategies. Then I illustrate how reader response approach works as a teaching strategy by presenting several teaching models.
