[目的/意义] 以图书馆众筹项目为研究对象,梳理图书馆应用众筹的现状,探明图书馆应用众筹的特点,并制定图书馆应用众筹的策略。[方法/过程] 采用案例分析、比较分析等方法,以图书馆众筹实践所必须面对的问题为线索,从发起主体、发起背景、业务应用、发布渠道与回报方式等方面对图书馆众筹项目进行系统分析,在分析的基础上归纳图书馆众筹项目特点,制定图书馆众筹实践策略。[结果/结论] 分析发现,对于不同的图书馆众筹项目,其在发起主体、发起背景、业务应用、发布渠道与回报方式等方面存在明显差异,图书馆应用众筹模式应采取明确判断适用情境、合理选择适用业务、综合运用发布渠道与丰富项目回报形式的策略。  相似文献

[目的 /意义]公益阅读的可持续发展依赖于有效的资金筹集机制。作为互联网环境下的创新,众筹在公益阅读的筹资中已经体现出积极的作用。探讨公益阅读中众筹融资的影响因素,对于充分发挥这一创新工具的潜力具有重要参考价值。[方法 /过程]以“阅动羊城”公益阅读众筹活动为研究对象,利用网络问卷调查2 860位捐赠者,从道德风险和理性选择的双重视角分析公益阅读中影响众筹融资效果的因素。[结果 /结论 ]数据分析表明,社会资本和对平台的信任等道德风险因素以及捐赠人的特征一起影响着众筹融资的效果,但是,研究未发现参与众筹的成本、精神和物质回报等理性选择因素的影响。在此基础上,从信任和捐赠人识别两个角度提出改善现阶段公益阅读中众筹融资效果的建议。  相似文献

[目的/意义]随着众多众筹网络平台的成功构建,众筹模式于近些年逐渐取得大众关注与认可,其快速发展对各行业产生了深远的影响,具有重要意义,对图书馆而言亦不例外.目前,国内外学者及业界同仁已针对众筹模式应用于图书馆建设进行了积极的探索,并已积累了一定的研究成果和实践经验.试图通过对国内外基于众筹模式的图书馆建设实践的分析,探究决定其成功与否的关键因素,以为国内有关实践的进一步开展提出可行的策略.[方法/过程]以网站调研为主,以国内外主流众筹网络平台所公开的图书馆建设项目信息作为研究对象,从众筹项目的发起者、项目内容、资金筹集情况、筹资时限、回报方式等方面分别对其进行深入分析,以总结国内外基于众筹模式的图书馆建设特点.以文献调研为辅,把握众筹模式的发展历史与现状.[结果/结论]明确众筹模式应用于图书馆建设的关键要素,指出图书馆建设众筹项目具有主动性、便捷性、透明性、交互性的特点.提出基于众筹模式的图书馆建设策略,包括:以众筹模式作为宣传手段、多渠道推介项目内容、合理设置项目回报、注重支持者的参与体验、激发大众发起项目的积极性等.  相似文献

Although graduate students are interested in learning data, grant, literature research, presentation, scholarly communication, and writing and publishing skills – topics not typically taught within their curriculum – scheduling conflicts during the academic year often prevent them from attending workshops that teach these skills. This article describes a grant-funded initiative where multiple campus units collaborated to provide themed boot camps outside of the fall and spring semesters. It also offers recommendations for adapting such a program at other institutions for lower cost, which administrators and practitioners in higher education, especially in academic libraries, may be particularly interested in.  相似文献

Publishers commonly use Article Processing Charges (APCs) to fund open access publications, and some libraries and institutions help local authors pay these costs. However, this strategy is expensive and can usually only address one article at a time. A number of relatively new publishing initiatives rely on a crowdfunding model and allow many libraries to share the cost of open access, often at a fraction of the cost of APCs. This article highlights several alternative publishing projects to help librarians think further about how library funds could be used to support open access.  相似文献

Electronic resource management (ERM) workflows in academic libraries are characterized by their complex and constantly shifting nature. This article describes four phases of effective workflow management including careful planning, development of workflow strategies, staffing and identification of resources, and integration of ERM and communication tools. The importance of supporting effective communication strategies is emphasized throughout the article. Information obtained from informal interviews with eight academic librarians provides discussion points on workflows given up and workflows maintained as libraries transition to larger electronic resource collections.  相似文献

Public libraries that practice effective dialogic communication are more likely to build trust with their communities. Applying principles of dialogic communication as a theoretical framework, this study examines how public libraries in Canada and the USA use Twitter to build long-term positive relationships with their publics. Content analysis of 28,788 Twitter messages sent to and from thirteen library @names revealed that libraries tend to employ the ‘dialogic cluster’ principles more often than the ‘technical and design cluster’ ones. However, ‘technical and design cluster’ messages were more likely to be retweeted. The number of followers was found to be positively related to the frequency of trust messages that the Twitter users send to a library @name. The authors discuss communication practices to actively engage publics in dialogic communication on Twitter.  相似文献

Though academic libraries do not compete with others in the real sense, every ambitious librarian would want his or her library to be better than the others. How would a librarian be able to achieve this? Traditionally, librarians have focused on building excellence in processes and operations. However, such processes and operations can be imitated and implemented by other libraries, resulting in those competencies being short lived. Researchers in strategic management have developed theories on how organizations can build competencies that cannot be imitated, and thus be ahead of their competitors. One such theory – referred to as the dynamic capabilities – is adapted to identify the micro-foundations including the roles, activities and competencies required to build these capabilities for academic libraries. Four themes – searching & sensing, shaping, seizing, and transforming – related to developing dynamic capabilities of academic libraries have been identified. Abstract

Organizations function as small societies with their unique behaviors, patterns, and communication. Organizational culture describes how individuals work within libraries and the patterns, assumptions, values, attitudes, and behavior that help an organization to operate within its environment and achieve, or not achieve, its mission. Effective leaders must understand the operational framework of their libraries in order to be successful in managing or to change the culture in support of strategic goals. Changing the culture of an organization is difficult and a long-term process with a realistic understanding of the current behaviors and a determined vision for how an organization should work. There are some specific strategies that may aid leaders in transforming a library culture into a productive and effective set of behaviors that will contribute to a library’s success.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Information professionals strive to understand the needs of communities in order to discover ways to connect and engage them in library resources and services. Positive word-of-mouth communication remains one of the most powerful tools used to develop mutually rewarding connections with the community. This article argues that libraries can harness the power of brand advocacy to transform their patrons into the most enthusiastic sharers of information, or informal brand advocates. Moreover, it emphasizes how libraries can carefully build and maintain mutually rewarding community connections through effective brand advocacy by utilizing the STEPPS framework – Social Currency, Triggers, Emotion, Public, Practical Value, Stories. Each principle in this framework can help an organization to effectively spread important brand messages. While the social currency principle encourages people to talk about topics that make them appear more favorable to others, triggers provide everyday cues that remind people of the library brand. Emotion focuses on appealing to feelings and the public principle calls for initiatives that advertise the brand. Finally, practical value motivates people to spread useful information and the stories principle explains that people share their experiences through memorable narratives. The article calls for adopting a holistic approach toward brand advocacy in applying the STEPPS framework in libraries.  相似文献

Libraries are considered safe spaces to explore different topics facilitating the sharing of knowledge so it would appear that colle giality and civility are cornerstones of our service. But within our organizations, collegiality is not always stressed as an important value within the workplace. Civility and collegiality are important for libraries as they are the foundation of our public services and support diversity of ideas and open communication within the workplace. Collegiality standards are set by the leaders and managers within an organization and this column will explore the need for civility standards to successfully achieve library goals.

Column Editor’s NoteLeadership skills are essential to creating libraries that are effective and relevant to their communities. While some individuals seem to possess inherent leadership capabilities, it is possible to develop and strengthen skills to effectively lead a department, unit, or organization. This column explores ways for librarians and library workers to improve their knowledge and abilities as they lead their units, libraries, communities, and the library profession.
