Advanced fault detection and accommodation schemes are required for ensuring efficient and reliable operation of modern wind turbines. This paper presents a novel approach in designing a fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) and fault-tolerant control (FTC) scheme for a wind turbine using fuzzy modeling, identification and control techniques. First, an improved gain-scheduled proportional-integral (PI) control system based on fuzzy gain scheduling (FGS) technique for multi-input and multi-output wind turbine system is designed. Then, to accommodate sensor faults and based on a signal correction algorithm, an active fault-tolerant control system (AFTCS) is developed as an extension of the gain-scheduled PI control system. The AFTCS exploits the fault information from a model-based FDD scheme developed using fuzzy modeling and identification method. The proposed schemes are evaluated by a series of simulations on a well-known large off-shore wind turbine benchmark in the presence of wind turbulences, measurement noises, and different realistic fault scenarios. All results indicate high effectiveness and robustness of the designed control systems in both fault-free and faulty operations of the wind turbine.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel approach to address the decentralized fault tolerant model predictive control of discrete-time interconnected nonlinear systems. The overall system is composed of a number of discrete-time interconnected nonlinear subsystems at the presence of multiple faults occurring at unknown time-instants. In order to deal with the unknown interconnection effects and changes in model dynamics due to multiple faults, both passive and active fault tolerant control design are considered. In the Active fault tolerant case an online approximation algorithm is applied to estimate the unknown interconnection effects and changes in model dynamics due to multiple faults. Besides, the decentralized control strategy is implemented for each subsystem with the model predictive control algorithm subject to some constraints. It is showed that the proposed method guarantees input-to-state stability characterization for both local subsystems and the global system under some predetermined assumptions. The simulation results are exploited to illustrate the applicability of the proposed method.  相似文献

This paper addresses an active fault diagnosis problem for a class of discrete-time closed-loop system with stochastic noise. By introducing the theories of system identification, a novel active fault diagnosis method is developed to detect and isolate the faults. An important advantage of the proposed method is that there is no need to cut off the original input signal, which is necessary in most active fault diagnosis methods. Firstly, due to the features of the faults, we transform the problem of fault diagnosis into a problem of model selection by estimating model parameters. Then, the sufficient condition for active fault diagnosability is analysed, and the property that auxiliary input signal can enhance the fault diagnosability is given. Finally, simulation studies are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method.  相似文献

This paper addresses the problem of adaptive fault estimation and fault-tolerant control for a class of nonlinear non-Gaussian stochastic systems subject to time-varying loss of control effectiveness faults. In this work, time-varying faults, Lipschitz nonlinear property and general stochastic characteristics are taken into consideration in a unified framework. Instead of using the system output signal, the output distribution is adopted for shape control. Both the states and faults are simultaneously estimated by an adaptive observer. Then, a fault tolerant shape controller is designed to compensate for the faults and realize stochastic output distribution tracking. Both the fault estimation and the fault tolerant control schemes are designed based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique. Satisfactory performance has been obtained for a numerical simulation example. Furthermore the proposed scheme is successfully tested in a case study of particle size distribution control for an emulsion polymerization reactor.  相似文献

Optimal sensor allocation can substantially reduce the life cycle maintenance costs of engineering systems. Considerable effort has been exerted to model the causal relationship between sensors and faults, but without considering the propagation of fault risk. In this paper, a grey relational analysis (GRA) based quantitative causal diagram (QCD) sensor allocation strategy is proposed that can take account of the influence of the propagation of fault risk. QCD is used to describe both the fault-sensor causal relationship and the fault-to-fault causal relationship. A data-driven-based GRA is applied in QCD to calculate the coefficients of the propagation of fault risk. To achieve an accurate relationship between faults and sensors, an improved quantitative analytic hierarchy process is proposed to calculate the coefficients between faults and sensors that is defined as sensor detectability in this paper. An optimal sensor allocation strategy is then developed using an improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) algorithm under the constraint on sensor detectability to minimize fault unobservability and total cost. The proposed strategy is demonstrated by a case study on a single-phase inverter system. Compared with two other sensor allocation strategies, the results show that the proposed strategy can obtain the lowest fault unobservability of per unit cost (?0.242) for sensor allocation under the propagation of fault risk.  相似文献

In this paper, a decentralized asymptotic fault tolerant control system is proposed for near space vehicle (NSV) attitude dynamics. First, NSV reentry mode is described, and the actuator failure model is developed whose behavior is described by high-order dynamics. Next, the multi-model based fault diagnosis and identification (FDI) algorithm is proposed for high order actuator dynamics, which can accurately diagnose and identify the fault in short time. Based on sliding mode, command filter, and backstepping technique, using information of FDI, a constrained fault tolerant control (FTC) is designed for reentry NSV. Finally, simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and potential of the proposed FTC scheme.  相似文献

Similarity-based modeling (SBM) is a technique whereby the normal operation of a system is modeled in order to detect faults by analyzing their similarity to the normal system states. First proposed around two decades ago, SBM has been successfully used for fault detection in varied systems. In spite of this success, there is not much study performed in the literature regarding its design, that encompasses both similarity metrics and model training. This work aims at contributing with an in-depth study of SBM for fault detection considering these two design aspects. This is done in the context of proposing a novel system to identify rotating-machinery faults based on SBM, that is employed either as a standalone classifier or to generate features for a random forest classifier. New approaches for training the model and new similarity metrics are investigated. Experimental results are shown for the recently developed Machinery Fault Database (MaFaulDa) that has an extensive set of sequences and fault types, and for the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) bearing database. Results for both databases indicate that the proposed techniques increase the generalization power of the similarity model and of the associated classifier, achieving accuracies of 98.5% on MaFaulDa and 98.9% on CWRU database.  相似文献

This paper investigates the controller design problem of cyber-physical systems (CPSs) to ensure the reliability and security when actuator faults in physical layers and attacks in cyber layers occur simultaneously. The actuator faults are time-varying, which cover bias fault, outage, loss of effectiveness and stuck. Besides that, some state-dependent cyber attacks are launched in control input commands and system measurement data channels, which may lead state information to the opposite direction. A novel co-design controller scheme is constructed by adopting a new Lyapunov function, Nussbaum-type function, and direct adaptive technique, which may further relax the requirements of actuator/sensor attacks information. It is proven that the states of the closed-loop system asymptotically converge to zero even if actuator faults, actuator attacks and sensor attack are time-varying and co-existing. Finally, simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed control method.  相似文献

The focus of this paper is on the detection and estimation of parameter faults in nonlinear systems with nonlinear fault distribution functions. The novelty of this contribution is that it handles the nonlinear fault distribution function; since such a fault distribution function depends not only on the inputs and outputs of the system but also on unmeasured states, it causes additional complexity in fault estimation. The proposed detection and estimation tool is based on the adaptive observer technique. Under the Lipschitz condition, a fault detection observer and adaptive diagnosis observer are proposed. Then, relaxation of the Lipschitz requirement is proposed and the necessary modification to the diagnostic tool is presented. Finally, the example of a one-wheel model with lumped friction is presented to illustrate the applicability of the proposed diagnosis method.  相似文献

This paper investigates a novel strategy which can address the fault-tolerant control (FTC) problem for nonlinear strict-feedback systems containing actuator saturation, unknown external disturbances, and faults related to actuators and components. In such method, the unknown dynamics including faults and disturbances are approximated by resorting to Neural-Networks (NNs) technique. Meanwhile, a back-stepping technique is employed to build a fault-tolerant controller. It should be stressed that the main advantage of this strategy is that the NN weights are updated online based on gradient descent (GD) algorithm by minimizing the cost function with respect to NNs approximation error rather than regarding weights as adaptive parameters, which are designed according to Lyapunov theory. In addition, the convergence proof of NN weights and the stability proof of the proposed FTC method are given. Finally, simulation is performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy in dealing with unknown external disturbances, actuator saturation and the faults related to the components and actuators, simultaneously.  相似文献

This study investigates the leader-following consensus issue of multi-agent systems subject to simultaneous connectivity-mixed attacks, actuator/sensor faults and disturbances. Connectivity-mixed attacks are remodeled into connectivity-maintained and connectivity-paralyzed topologies in a switched version, and actuator/sensor faults are established with unified incipient-type and abrupt-type characteristics. Then, unknown input observer-based decoupling and estimation are incorporated to achieve unknown state and fault observations with the normalized technique, and the leader-following consensus-based compensation to faults, resilience to attacks and robustness to disturbances are also realized with the neighboring output information and sensor fault estimation through the distributed framework. Criteria of achieving exponential leader-following consensus of multi-agent systems under cyber-physical threats are derived with dual attack frequency and activation rate indicators. Simulation example is conducted to exemplify the validation and merits of the proposed leader-following consensus algorithm.  相似文献

A novel interval observer filtering-based fault diagnosis method for linear discrete-time systems with dual uncertainties is proposed to detect actuator faults. The idea of minimization is adopted to design a fault-free state estimator by merging unknown but bounded and Gaussian disturbances and noises according to the signal average power principle. Using a fault-free state interval and measurement residual of the system, a fault detection indicator is designed based on the residual probability ratio, to achieve dynamic fault detection, isolation and identification. Finally, various simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

This paper proposes solutions that reduce the inaccuracy of distributed state estimation and consequent performance deterioration of distributed model predictive control caused by faults and inaccurate models. A distributed state estimation method for large-scale systems is introduced. A local state estimation approach considers the uncertainty of neighbor estimates, which can improve the state estimation accuracy, whereas it keeps a low network communication burden. The method also incorporates the uncertainty of model parameters which improves the performance when using simplified models. The proposed method is extended with multiple models and estimates the probability of nominal and fault behavior models, which creates a distributed fault detection and diagnosis method. An example with application to the building heating control demonstrates that the proposed algorithm provides accurate state estimates to a controller and detects local or global faults while using simplified models.  相似文献

This paper presents a trajectory-based online control reconfiguration mechanism against unknown fault occurring in an electric circuit. First, we demonstrate the modeling of an electric circuit by taking the time-trajectory viewpoint, where no a priori input–output partition has been made. The uniqueness of this viewpoint lies in the fact that it deals only with variables that describe the system without any dedicated (external or internal -type) representation. Subsequently, we illustrate a novel real-time fault-tolerant control (FTC) strategy based on this trajectory standpoint, which does not require an explicit model-based fault diagnosis unit. Instead, the controller is reconfigured directly based on the trajectories generated by the system in real-time, and the given control specifications. In this way, we efficiently excrete the shortcomings that are often seen in model-based fault-tolerant systems. The proposed FTC method is effectively demonstrated on an RLC circuit.  相似文献

A technique for the modeling of nonlinear control processes using fuzzy modeling approach based on the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model with a combination of genetic algorithm and recursive least square is proposed. This paper discusses the identification of the parameters at the antecedent and consequent parts of the fuzzy model. For the antecedent fuzzy parameters, genetic algorithm is used to tune them while at the consequent part, recursive least squares approach is used to identify the system parameters. This approach is applied to a process control rig with three subsystems: a heating element, a heat exchanger and a compartment tank. Experimental results show that the proposed approach provides better modeling when compared with Takagi Sugeno fuzzy modeling technique and the linear modeling approach.  相似文献

Generally, the efficiency of key performance indicator (KPI) relevant and irrelevant fault monitoring is highly related to the definition of KPI relevant and irrelevant variations in the input space. Therefore, a novel KPI relevant and irrelevant fault monitoring scheme is proposed, the offline modeling phase of which incorporates a neighborhood component analysis (NCA)-based KPI relevant variable selection method and a two-level partial least square (PLS) modeling strategy. With the utilization of NCA, the KPI relevant and irrelevant input variables could be determined, respectively. To obtain an explicit decomposition of KPI relevant and irrelevant variations from the input, a two-level PLS modeling strategy is proposed to avoid the potential loss of KPI relevant information that hidden in KPI irrelevant variables and the potential loss of KPI irrelevant information that resulted from the first level PLS model. It is thus expected to achieve superior performance than the methods that considered in the current work. The effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method in monitoring KPI relevant and irrelevant faults have also be demonstrated by implementing comparisons with its counterparts.  相似文献

A fault tolerant control scheme for actuator and sensor faults is proposed for a tilt-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system. The tilt-rotor UAV has a vertically take-off and landing (VTOL) capability like a helicopter during the take-off & landing while it could cruise with a high speed as a conventional airplane flight mode. A dual system in the flight control computer (FCC) and the sensor is proposed in this study. To achieve a high reliability, a fault tolerant flight control system is required for the case of actuator or sensor fault. For the actuator fault, the fault tolerant control scheme based on model error control synthesis is presented. A designed fault tolerant control scheme does not require system identification process and it provides an effective reconfigurability without fault detection and isolation (FDI) process. For the sensor fault, the fault tolerant federated Kalman filter is designed for the tilt-rotor UAV system. An FDI algorithm is applied to the federated Kalman filter in order to improve the accuracy of the state estimation even when the sensor fails. For a linearized six-degree-of-freedom linear model and nonlinear model of the tilt-rotor UAV, numerical simulation and process-in-the-loop simulation (PILS) are performed to demonstrate the performance of the proposed fault tolerant control scheme.  相似文献

In this paper, the identification of the Wiener–Hammerstein systems with unknown orders linear subsystems and backlash is investigated by using the modified multi-innovation stochastic gradient identification algorithm. In this scheme, in order to facilitate subsequent parameter identification, the orders of linear subsystems are firstly determined by using the determinant ratio approach. To address the multi-innovation length problem in the conventional multi-innovation least squares algorithm, the innovation updating is decomposed into sub-innovations updating through the usage of multi-step updating technique. In the identification procedure, by reframing two auxiliary models, the unknown internal variables are replaced by using the outputs of the corresponding auxiliary model. Furthermore, the convergence analysis of the proposed algorithm has shown that the parameter estimation error can converge to zero. Simulation examples are provided to validate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

Data-driven fault diagnosis of closed loop processes has been a challenge in the process control community. The issue of the interaction between the process model and the controller model exists in models directly identified from closed loop data, because for all the measured process outputs, no matter whether they are normal or faulty, they are fed back into the controllers so that the reconstruction-based contribution (RBC) as the fault diagnosis method has a severe fault smearing effect. This article proposes a novel sampling scheme which can significantly eliminate the adverse effect of modeling issues in feedback control. The identifiability condition of model parameters is satisfied in the new sampling framework so that the RBC recovers its efficiency even though the process runs under feedback control. Two benchmarks, a continuous stirred-tank heater process and the Tennessee Eastman challenge problem, are used to test the efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献
