【《每日新报》消息】106张珍贵的西文藏书票近日出现在天津图书馆。据了解,这是继上海、北京等各大图书馆发现西文藏书票后,天津图书馆首次大量发现并展出西文藏书票。据天津图书馆历史文献部袁先生介绍,这106张西文藏书票均在该馆收藏的1911年以前问世的原版西文图书中发现。去年10月,天津图书馆的工作人员在得知上海图书馆、北京图书馆分别发现了大量西文藏书票后,便产生了“天津图书馆收藏的原版西文书中会不会也夹有藏书票”的疑问,于是袁先生应馆长的要求,开始了精心地搜索。经过4个多月的整理,他们从30000…  相似文献

漫谈藏书票     
人类在书籍的产生、文化的传播过程中,出现了收藏书籍的社会现象。继之而来的,是在书籍上作出收藏者的个人标记。在我国,这种标记以藏书印为主,兼有其他形式的标志。在欧洲则以藏书票为主。在书籍上钤盖自己的印章,史称藏书印,官私沿用,而以明、清最盛,至今不衰。而作为藏书印的“姐妹”——藏书票,在我国则很少受到人们的“青睐”。西人的藏书票一般只有一、二寸左右大小,或长或方,或扁或圆;票面大多由图案和文字组成一帧小巧精致的美术作品。图案內容五花八门,形式不拘。文字主要是拉丁文,“EX-LIBRIS”,意即藏书票,同时附有藏书者的姓名。这种藏书票多数是铜版、石版印刷和木版雕印的。藏书票从欧洲兴  相似文献

1998年12月,国家图书馆发行了首套藏书票集《北京图书馆藏书票》,内容为馆藏部分善本书中的历代皇家和中央官府藏书印鉴。其中第五枚藏书票采用的是"大本堂书"这枚藏书印鉴,因编纂时考证的疏漏,误认此印为宋内府收藏书籍、字画之印鉴。不久前,《文献》2000年第1期刊登了子厚《藏书印鉴小考》一文,引据明郑晓《今言》第三百三十一条,考证清楚大本堂是明朝初年建立的,地点在今天的南京。朱元璋敕建大本堂,目的是要聚藏古今图书,延  相似文献

Results of several research studies indicate that corporate reference collections may differ in kind and in definition from reference collections of other types of libraries. It was found that a corporate reference collection may not embody a "core"; it might not imply ownership of items; it might rely heavily on referral sources; and it might be redefined functionally as a wlndow or gate to rentable information. The corporate librarian may make little distinction between a reference book and any other item in the library collection. Further, evaluation of such a corporate reference collection entails the evaluation of other parts of the library. This includes the ability of librarians to use any source to answer reference questions or provide information for the decision makers in the corporation; such a mode implies that the presence of a reference collection may be counterproductive to the provision of information services. Methods of evaluation were also considered as indicators of performance distinct from output measures.  相似文献

Provenance is defined as the record of a book's ownership history. Its value and uses are explored. A survey of provenance practices in medical school rare book libraries found that only 21% of the reporting libraries maintain this important file. Examples of the uses and value of a provenance file in a medical rare book collection are presented. Decisions necessary to institute and maintain such a file are outlined and discussed.  相似文献

In 1992, Auraria Library fully embraced the idea that meeting user information needs is a collection development activity which should be funded from the materials budget whether accomplished by purchasing material for permanent retention or by acquiring one-time access for an individual user. This article discusses the restructuring of a traditional Interlibrary Loan Department into Information Delivery/Interlibrary Loan (ID/ILL) and its move to Collection Development Services. Because access to resources was funded from the learning materials budget along with ownership, it became necessary to rethink the Library's collection development philosophy. Implementation of the new philosophy required modification of collection building practices and the creation of aggressive information delivery programs.  相似文献

The CARM (CAVAL Archive and Research Materials) Centre was developed in the nineteen-nineties by CAVAL, a not-for-profit cooperative owned by a group of university libraries in Victoria, Australia. The Centre was developed as a shared last copy repository for low-use published materials and, as it filled, a market assessment of demand was commissioned. This article describes how a new business model was developed and implemented for the construction of Stage 2 (CARM2). It also outlines lessons learned from the management of the original facility, ongoing issues associated with ownership and governance and trends away from the shared collection model.  相似文献

Abstract This article explores the act of collecting from a postmodern perspective by examining the influences of changing times, places, and persons. Considering the British Museum's stages of development and progress, it discusses the life of Sir Hans Sloane and how his actions helped determine the museum's original goals for its collection. The early days of the British Museum provide a clear view into the values of seventeenth‐ and eighteenth‐century British society. The focus of the museum's collection has changed over the years with the changing views of academics and society. The museum today still strives to hold knowledge of all things, yet tempers this goal under the pressures of modern theorists and politics. While still desiring to communicate information about the world from vast and complex collections, the museum has shifted its focus to answer questions of ownership and entitlement. Explaining national and world heritage views, the article concludes with a discussion of the ethics of collecting as a primary factor in today's British Museum collection.  相似文献
