为解决图书馆阅览及自习座位经常被占用,人工管理方式效率低、效果差的问题,华北电力大学图书馆开发了一套阅览座位计算机管理系统.系统开发以VB语言和Oracle数据库为基础,与图书馆门禁管理系统中的读者库相挂接,实现了读者身份验证与座位选取的同步管理.系统的应用使图书馆阅览座位管理的效率得到极大提高. 相似文献

[目的/意义]当前高校图书馆座位预约管理系统研究中默认系统会被广泛使用,然而实践中并非必然如此。针对座位预约管理系统的实际使用效果,分析其成因,并提出完善座位预约管理制度的思路。[方法/过程]采用实证分析和经济学分析方法,统计吉林大学鼎新图书馆座位预约管理系统的使用数据,描述其使用效果。通过讨论座位预约管理制度中的规则选择成本、分配成本、裁判成本、执行成本以及监督成本,分析座位预约管理系统使用现状的成因。[结果/结论]实践中座位预约管理系统使用人数偏少,这种现象是"先到先得"和"预约选座"两种座位资源分配规则博弈的结果。由于在规则选择、分配、裁判、执行以及监督过程中成本分配不合理,读者缺乏使用系统的激励机制。系统功能的实现程度也是影响读者使用的因素,高校图书馆引进座位预约管理系统主要为了解决占座问题。针对4种不同类型占座行为,系统功能实现程度不一。要完善座位预约管理制度,需要整体地、系统地采取措施,包括统一座位资源分配规则、完善制度设计、系统管理和人力管理相结合。 相似文献

The present study used the notion of personal space from environmental psychology and wall-hugging from evolutionary biology to understand student seat preference in a university library's reading room. Recent years have seen an increase in requests for individual study space in academic libraries. To adequately provide such spaces, we require keen observation of human psychology and spatial behavior in the microenvironment of an individual study room. Therefore, we analyzed space-choice behavior and check-in data logs at an academic library rather than subjective self-report surveys, to investigate actual student seat selections through a reservation process. Regardless of increased digital media use in the reading room, the need for personal space and wall-hugging traits were still exhibited. With an increased demand for individual electrical outlets and lighting, study carrels were highly preferred. We found that corner seats were significantly favored, while aisle seats were significantly avoided and prevented extended stays. The presence of walls was favored; however, furniture type significantly affected a preference for the location of walls. Specifically, students in study carrels preferred walls on both sides, while those seated at open tables preferred a wall behind them. 相似文献

This study explores the library equivalent of the towels on deck chairs phenomenon of students reserving library seats: the practice of leaving personal belongings unattended at a library study space for long periods of time, rendering the desk unavailable for use by others. It presents highly inefficient use of high value academic library space. This study measured the impact and effectiveness of a desk clearing intervention put in place to alleviate the space constraints caused by the practice. The components of this single site study were focus groups that explored student attitudes and motivations toward desk reserving, a survey to assess user perceptions of the intervention and analysis of access gate data to identify behavioral changes following the intervention. Findings suggest that the phenomenon is a normal part of the student culture in the University library where this study is based. In addition to space constraints during busy periods, the sense of community and the trust and peer support that users feel in the library appear to be contributory factors in desk reserving. The desk clearing initiative was introduced in response to user feedback, to maximize the availability of seats for the benefit of all users. It was successful in reducing the practice of seat reserving. Its impact was most noticeable in the early morning, where the practice of reserving seats for use later in the day disappeared. The initiative was welcomed by library users. The “Every Seat Counts” campaign is now a regular part of the end of each semester in the University of Limerick. 相似文献

Since the beginning of this decade, there has seen an exponential growth in number of internet users using social media, especially Twitter for sharing their views on various topics of common interest like sports, products, politics etc. Due to the active participation of large number of people on Twitter, huge amount of data (i.e. big data) is being generated, which can be put to use (after refining) to analyze real world problems. This paper takes into consideration the Twitter data related to the 2017 Punjab (a state of India) assembly elections and applies different social media analytic techniques on collected tweets to extract and unearth hidden but useful information. In addition to this, we have employed machine learning algorithm to perform polarity analysis and have proposed a new seat forecasting method to accurately predict the number of seats that a political party is likely to win in the elections. Our results confirmed that Indian National Congress was likely to emerge winner and that in fact was the outcome, when results got declared. 相似文献
