The growing complexity of scientific challenges demands increasingly intense research collaboration, both domestic and international. The resulting trend affects not only the modes of producing new knowledge, but also the way it is disseminated within scientific communities. This paper analyses the relationship between the “degree of internationalization” of a country’s scientific production and that of the relevant citing publications. The empirical analysis is based on 2010-2012 Italian publications. Findings show: i) the probability of being cited increases with the degree of internationalization of the research team; ii) totally domestic research teams tend to cite to a greater extent totally domestic publications; iii) vice versa, publications resulting from international collaborations tend to be more cited by totally foreign publications rather than by publications including domestic authors. These results emerge both at overall and at discipline level. Findings might inform research policies geared towards internationalization.  相似文献

Abstract

Librarians frequently have the opportunity to purchase Russian publications from nontraditional retail outlets, such as authors, book agents, or other independent sources, rather than book vendors. These transactions take place for a number of reasons, but generally they are done to acquire specialized materials that are not readily available through established outlets. In addition, the domestic price of Russian books is substantially lower than the prices charged by foreign vendors and as a result independent Russian purchasing agents can offer books at very competitive prices. Unfortunately, because these transactions do not follow established library procedures, they are often very labor-intensive and difficult to complete.  相似文献

The development of nanotechnology and the growth of investment in this field are briefly surveyed based on a bibliometric analysis using Science Citation Index (SCI) database entering into the Web of Science (WOS) online academic database, with special emphasis on the positions of Russian researchers in modern nano-and bionanotechnology (BNT). The flow of domestic BNT publications over a period from 1995 to 2006 has been analyzed at three-year intervals. The search in SCI over this period of time yielded more than 19.2 thousand articles pertaining to the field under consideration. Russia is still among 50 leading countries with respect to a broad spectrum of research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. However, the growth rate of domestic publications among those covered by the WOS database lags significantly behind that of the publications from United States and China. The Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) is a leader among the domestic institutions engaged in nanoscience and BNT, despite some decrease in the proportion of RAS publications in the total world flow. The results of domestic investigations in BNT are primarily published in the world leading journals on the chemistry and materials science.  相似文献

The results from analyzing the scientific output of scientists from the Novosibirsk oblast’ are given based on works published in 2005–2009. The analysis was carried out using the data and potential of the Web of Science (WoS) and, in particular, information about domestic and foreign science foundations that supported particular studies, Journal Citation Reports, HistCite software, and certain additional data that included official statistics from Rosstat and involved indicators derived from the journal impact factor and the aggregate impact factor of the WoS knowledge category. The publications by the scientists from the oblast’ were distributed according to 133 WoS knowledge categories. Research in certain trends in 48 WoS knowledge categories carried out in the oblast’ is in no way inferior to and very often is even better than the global science standards. More than 50% of the publications were sponsored by domestic and foreign science foundations: the scientific quality of these works was considerably higher than that of the unsponsored studies. The coauthors of the articles published by scientists of the oblast’ in the period were their colleagues from 83 countries. R & D costs in the Novosibirsk oblast’ are used quite efficiently: in 2009 the publications by the scientists of the oblast’ accounted for more than 9% of the entire amount of works published all over Russia, while internal research and development expenses were only 2.5% of such expenses nationwide.  相似文献

This paper cites statistical data describing the tendencies in Russian scientists’ publishing activity in the period from 1993 to 2006 according to the DB Web of Science (WOS). An important result of the research is the fact that about 50% of the papers written by Russian authors were published in foreign scientific journals used to prepare the WOS. This is a demonstration that Russian science is highly integrated into international science. To conduct a comparative analysis of the scientific productivity of the Russian scientists we used statistics obtained from the SCOPUS information system and presented in the SJR portal.  相似文献

The purpose of the Kazakh publication citation indicator that has been developed in Kazakhstan since 2005 is to carry out scientometric analysis of scientific publications to determine their citation rate. At present, the bibliographic database (BDB) on citation includes information on the publication activities and citation index of approximately 30000 Kazakh scientists and specialists. They had over 18000 scientific papers published in over 500 domestic and foreign journals. The total quantity of references to papers by Kazakh scientists was more than 28000. The Kazakh analogue of the science citation index determination system is an efficient tool for analytical work with the BDB of scientific publications, which makes it possible to calculate publication activities and citation parameters, which are used to define the value and demand for the results of scientific work in various fields of domestic science.  相似文献

The review of the research of the Open-Access system of journals and its advantages and disadvantages are presented. The bibliometric analysis was carried out for the array of Russian papers published in the journals of the Gold Open Access system and reflected in the SCI-E database for 2008–2017. The results of the analysis of the publication activity showed that, despite the high payments for papers, there was a steady increase in the share of Russian publications in such journals compared to the overall publication activity of Russia: from 7.8% in 2008 to 13.7% in 2017. This is largely due to active international cooperation of Russian organizations with funding agencies from the United States (31%), Germany (29%), and other industrialized countries. Analysis of the array of Gold OA publications in large research areas made it possible to establish a significant difference in its structure compared to the general array of publications in Russia. As an example, the most important scientific field in the world, Research Area Scientific Technologies, was ranked the third in comparison with the ninth rank in the general array.russian scientists widely use high-quality foreign journals of the Gold OA system, which includes one Russian journal, Solid State Physics.  相似文献

[目的/意义] 目前国内外一些专利评价指标能否用于专利产业化潜力的评价尚具争议,本文对遴选的指标是否适用于国外、国内专利的产业化潜力评价进行验证,尤其针对中国专利的特点,分析与国外专利在产业化潜力评价指标上的异同点。[方法/过程] 从技术、权利、市场三方面的因素进行综合考察,在文献调研的基础上遴选专利产业化潜力评价的相关指标,并利用SPSS统计分析软件通过独立样本T检验等计量方法对这些指标进行效力验证。[结果/结论] 通过专利流氓购买专利和国内转移许可专利对指标体系进行验证,结果可知:国内外专利产业化潜力评价指标存在较大差异。通过实证研究确定了一部分可用于评价国外专利产业化潜力的指标,包括相对被引次数、非专利参考文献数量、IPC分类号个数、权利要求数量、专利族大小、专利年龄、授权后第8年是否维持;可用于评价国内专利产业化潜力的指标,包括专利类型、授权后第5年是否维持。  相似文献

The relationship of the h-index with other bibliometric indicators at the micro level is analysed for Spanish CSIC scientists in Natural Resources, using publications downloaded from the Web of Science (1994–2004). Different activity and impact indicators were obtained to describe the research performance of scientists in different dimensions, being the h-index located through factor analysis in a quantitative dimension highly correlated with the absolute number of publications and citations. The need to include the remaining dimensions in the analysis of research performance of scientists and the risks of relying only on the h-index are stressed. The hypothesis that the achievement of some highly visible but intermediate-productive authors might be underestimated when compared with other scientists by means of the h-index is tested.  相似文献

通过提供情报学领域的研究项目立项情况和文献统计数据,为先前识别出来的候选前沿研究领域提供佐证。分别对国内外情报学研究项目的立项情况、LISA文献数据库中收录的候选领域的文献数量、美国情报科学技术学会会刊载文的主题、美国《情报科学技术年评》的评论主题和美国情报科学技术学会年会的主题进行调查统计。发现上述几类统计结果能较好地验证前文所列出的候选前沿领域的合理性和可靠性,并纠正其中一些偏差。  相似文献

The main factors that currently contribute to the increase of the vulnerability of computer information are considered. The dynamics of a number of promising scientific research areas in the field of information security (cryptography, computer steganography, and biometric information-protection systems) are analyzed based on Russian and foreign publications from VINITI databases over the past decade. 从专利情报视角,运用SPSS软件,对国家知识产权局1994年全年授权的3838件发明专利中因未交专利年费而被终止的2921件进行多元线型回归实证分析。分析结果表明,国家知识产权局授权的发明专利平均维持时间短,被终止速度快;外国申请人获得的发明专利维持时间比国内申请人获得的发明专利维持时间长;申请人的国别、从申请到授权所需时间、权利主体类型、发明人数和权利要求数对发明专利的维持时间影响依次减弱。  相似文献

Based on the analysis of a range of key publications in the area of nanoenergy, which, among other journals, were reflected in the Physics of Nanoobjects and Nanotechnology issue of the peer-reviewed journal that was published by the All-Russia Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of the Russian Academy of Sciences (VINITI RAS) in the 2000–2012 period, key areas of research in this field are analyzed from the perspective of physics. The citation indexes of the key publications, the geographic origins of their authors, and the demand for nanoenergy products are presented. 从年代分布和主题分布两方面分析国内外电子书阅读器的研究现状.研究结果显示,2010-2011年是电子书阅读器发展的黄金年代.国内较多研究电子书阅读器对图书馆的影响、在图书馆中的应用及存在的问题;国外则较多研究电子书阅读器试验项目的评估、电子书阅读器在图书馆及教学和科研环境中的应用.在此基础上,对比国内外电子书阅读器研究的异同,指出国内学者应加强实际应用案例、应用满意度与效果、电子书阅读器在教学和科研环境中的应用、解决措施等主题的研究.  相似文献

The authors surveyed 101 social scientists at the University of Botswana to determine their use of government publications. Citation studies were also employed as a complement to the survey. The findings reveal that most of the respondents (97.3 percent) used government documents in some fashion. Moreover, most users attached a high importance to the use of government publications for research (89 percent) and teaching (86 percent). The study also suggests that social scientists prefer to borrow government publications from their colleagues and obtain personal copies rather than depend on the University of Botswana Library. It is recommended that government documents be more accessible to the establishment of government publications distribution centers as the inaccessibility of these documents is a national problem. Another recommendation is that the University Library should provide current awareness services on government publications to its users.  相似文献

This paper presents the results of a bibliometric study of the scientific publications that are affiliated with Russia and included in multidisciplinary databases, such as Science Citation Index and Scopus, as well as in the specialized Chemical Abstracts database, in the period from 2005 to 2009. Major bibliometric indicators, including citation indexes, are explored. It is shown that the Scopus database contains most of the Russian publications in the period from 2005 to 2009. While a gradual decrease in the number of peer-reviewed Russian-language journals constitutes a general trend for all three databases, the Chemical Abstracts database leads in terms of the coverage of these journals. It is found that despite the large number of translated versions of journals, Russian publications are still significantly late in their coverage by foreign databases, which has a significant impact on their citation levels.  相似文献

The analysis of research collaboration by field is traditionally conducted beginning with the classification of the publications from the context of interest. In this work we propose an alternative approach based on the classification of the authors by field. The proposed method is more precise if the intended use is to provide a benchmark for the evaluation of individual propensity to collaborate. In the current study we apply the new methodology to all Italian university researchers in the hard sciences, measuring the propensity to collaborate for the various fields: in general, and specifically with intramural colleagues, extramural domestic and extramural foreign organizations. Using a simulation, we show that the results present substantial differences from those obtained through application of traditional approaches.  相似文献

从定量分析的角度对科技论文外流的特点、科技论文外流的文献经济损失构成及深层次原因进行剖析.研究发现:各单位制定的科研评价政策,其主要依据为SCI论文及影响因子.在此科研评价导向的作用下,67.59%的作者选择国外期刊投稿,16.39%选择国内中文刊,仅有0.3%选择国内英文刊,导致国内期刊优秀稿源匮乏.认为端正科研导向、创办具有国际知名的英文刊是抑制优秀稿源外流的主要措施.  相似文献
