Competence and benevolence are two personality prototypes that have emerged in research on voice and personality. While traits comprising these prototypes have been described, there is incomplete information about the interaction effects of speech rate, pitch variation, and loudness during impression formation processes. Five hypotheses and three research questions were advanced to examine main and interaction effects of the three vocal variables on the two personality prototypes. The main effects hypotheses were significant for both prototypes. Rate and pitch variation were the most influential for competence and benevolence, respectively. For competence, one interaction effect (rate by pitch variation) was significant. For benevolence, two interaction effects were significant (pitch variation by loudness, and pitch variation by rate). The results are discussed in the theoretical framework provided by implicit personality theory and the structures of the two personality prototypes.  相似文献

Affordable and ubiquitous online communications (social media) provide the means for flows of ideas and opinions and play an increasing role for the transformation and cohesion of society – yet little is understood about how online opinions emerge, diffuse, and gain momentum. To address this problem, an opinion formation framework based on content analysis of social media and sociophysical system modeling is proposed. Based on prior research and own projects, three building blocks of online opinion tracking and simulation are described: (1) automated topic, emotion and opinion detection in real-time, (2) information flow modeling and agent-based simulation, and (3) modeling of opinion networks, including special social and psychological circumstances, such as the influence of emotions, media and leaders, changing social networks etc. Finally, three application scenarios are presented to illustrate the framework and motivate further research.  相似文献

情境是知识共享和重用的重要基础,为此提出了基于情境的知识共享与重用方法。讨论了情境的概念与特点,提出了分层的多维情境建模方法。在分层的多维情境模型基础上,提出了基于主情境模型树的情境相似性评估方法。给出了基于情境的知识共享与重用系统的体系框架。通过基于情境的知识共享与重用方法,实现了根据用户情境的自适应知识匹配,提高了知识共享和重用效率。  相似文献

This paper is a continuation of a previous one in The Reference Librarian, exploring the advantages of a simulation (rather than expert system) approach to designing a system to relieve reference desk overload. Another paper examined the correlation between four expert systems and various reference models; it made several recommendations for future research. The ideas presented in those two earlier papers have now been implemented in a prototype system named REFSIM, which can be used by either client or librarian. REFSIM can simulate a reference librarian, a teacher of reference librarians and a client, singly or in combination. It has an expert-system consultation mode and several Intelligent Computer-Assisted Instruction (ICAI) modes. The components and architecture of REFSIM are described in this paper. Details, including a sample transaction, are given for the expert system mode, which is to be used for consultation by library clients. An overview is supplied for two ICAI modes, which can be used to instruct clients or train reference librarians.  相似文献

Issues related to the use of various means of visual representation of the condition of a complex technological controlled facility, specifically, methods of cognitive graphics, are discussed. Nuclear-power facilities and oil-pipeline transportation systems are presented as two examples of complex facilities. The importance of the visual representation of the anomalous condition of controlled facilities while addressing the problems of condition diagnostics and making the appropriate decisions is discussed. Cognitive images that are applied by decision-support systems, the intelligent user interface of a nuclear-power-plant unit operator, and an oil pipeline system dispatcher are described.  相似文献

The scholarly journal has remained largely unchanged in purpose and structure during its three-century evolution. Current forces within the publishing industry, technology sector, the academy, and the related research environment are prompting rapid change in scholarly communication. Economic models for journals reflect both the unique challenges of the publisher as well as these broader environmental forces. Several constructs are described, followed by a preliminary report on an experimental project, PEAK (Pricing Electronic Access to Knowledge), which explores models for journal pricing and products. PEAK and other innovative projects that challenge traditional journal models may serve as both catalysts for change as well as prototypes for the scholarly journals of the early 21st century.  相似文献

This work is aimed at developing new approaches and at improvement of control of oil-producing wells and an oilfield as a whole based on artificial intelligence methods. A three-tier system of intelligent oilfield control that ensures optimization of oil production and the operation of equipment is proposed; the essential features of the applied artificial intelligence tools that are required for implementation at all levels are described. 参照都柏林核心元数据规范构建网页信息的标引框架,提取网页特征信息,采用ADO技术实现网页信息的自动标引,实验结果表明,标引信息映射到网页的正确率为100%。最后,将标引技术应用到互补结构网络智能代理终端,验证UCL标引方法的有效性。实验结果显示,通过基于UCL的网页信息自动分类及标引技术能够实现信息的主动服务,满足用户的个性化需求。  相似文献
