Self‐perception of gifts and talents among adults in a longitudinal study of academically talented high‐school graduates

Definitions of giftedness and self‐perceptions of abilities were examined among adults who have been participating in a longitudinal study of academically talented students since their high‐school graduation in 1988. For the present study, participants answered open‐ended questions and completed scales measuring adult giftedness and adult self‐perceptions of abilities in 12 different domains. Gender differences in perceptions were examined. When participants were asked if they believed they were gifted in high school and now, more men than women responded affirmatively to both questions. Further, significant gender differences were identified for perceived competencies in four areas: job competence, nurturance, athletic competence, and morality. Implications of the findings and directions for future research are discussed.  相似文献

旨在通过探索公司企业家精神的中介作用打开首席执行官的变革型领导行为与企业绩效之间关系的"黑箱".目前,在企业层面上探讨首席执行官的变革型领导行为与企业绩效之间的中介变量的研究几乎空白,基于此,首次提出了以公司企业家精神作为首席执行官变革型领导行为作用于企业绩效的中介机制的理论模型,并通过珠三角地区的192家企业进行了实证检验.研究结果表明,首席执行官的变革型领导行为对企业绩效具有显著的影响,公司企业家精神在两者之间的关系中起部分中介作用.  相似文献

选取2007～2009年97家房地产上市公司为样本,以高管层在职消费分析为切入点,分析高管层权力强度、其他大股东制衡对公司高管层在职消费的影响。研究发现:(1)高管层权力越大,在职消费水平越高;(2)其他大股东制衡能力的提高能够有效抑制高管层滥用权力扩大在职消费水平;(3)国有企业高管层权力强度对在职消费的影响和非国有企业高管层权力强度对在职消费的影响无显著差异,但是其他大股东对高管层权力强度下在职消费的抑制效应在国有企业表现得更为明显。  相似文献

R&D强度与企业价值——股权性质和两职合一的调节作用

 文章主要关注内部治理机制中的股权性质和两职设置对R&D与企业价值之间关系的调节效应。我们采用Heckman两阶段模型,运用混合截面层次回归估计了2007-2009年制造业上市公司的R&D强度和企业价值之间的关系。研究结果表明：(1)R&D强度对当期和后一期的企业价值产生显著的正影响;(2)国有企业性质负向调节R&D强度与企业价值之间的关系;(3)实证结果更倾向于支持现代管家理论,两职合一正向调节R&D强度与企业价值之间的关系。  相似文献

The authors examined the occupational satisfaction of 107 counselor educator mothers and found that work‐to‐family enrichment, support from colleagues, and number of children under age 6 were significant predictors of occupational satisfaction. These results underscore the importance of policies and programs to increase occupational satisfaction of academic mothers and to support their recruitment and retention.  相似文献   

How CEOs use Twitter: A comparative analysis of Global and Latin American companies

Social networks are becoming a key communication tool for organizations, but also for top managers like CEOs. Among the different available platforms, Twitter is one of the greatest and it is considered one of the most suitable to share information and engage in dialogue with stakeholders. In this way, this paper analyzes the presence of CEOs on the most active social network sites, and assess the activity and interaction of these top managers on Twitter. CEOs from Global and Latin American companies were selected, to compare their performance. The results of the study show that the presence of CEOs in social networks is very low, and the majority of those that are present on them are not adequately using their Twitter accounts. Although the general presence and performance on are low, LatAm CEOs have a better presence on social networks and they are more active on Twitter, but Global CEOs have better interaction results on their accounts. So, this area of strategic communication should be improved by communication practitioners, since the CEO communication is nowadays a key communication issue for any organization.  相似文献

高管社会联结与并购绩效——来自中国A股上市公司的经验证据

基于社会镶嵌理论,从主并企业和目标企业高管之间的社会联结关系的角度出发,选择2005~2014年间的沪深两市A股上市公司的并购事件为样本,探讨高管社会联结对并购绩效的影响,并且进一步分析因学历和任职而造成高管间两种不同的社会联结对并购绩效的作用差异。研究发现:并购双方的高管社会联结,尤其是由于学历而造成的社会联结,会降低主并企业、目标企业以及并购后合并实体的价值;并且当企业存在两职合一的情况时,这种价值的减损会在一定程度上加剧。  相似文献
