Governing through parents: a genealogical enquiry of education policy and the construction of neoliberal subjectivities in England

In this paper we explore the various spaces and sites through which the figure of the parent is summoned to inhabit and perform market norms and practices in the field of education in England. Since the late 1970s successive governments have called on parents to enact certain duties and obligations in relation to the state. These duties include adopting and internalizing responsibility for all kinds of risks, liabilities and inequities formerly managed by the Keynesian welfare state. In this paper we examine how English parents are compelled to embody certain market norms and practices as they navigate the field of education. Adopting genealogical enquiry and policy discourse analysis as our methodology, we explore how parents across three policy sites or spaces are constructed as objects and purveyors of utility and ancillaries to marketization. This includes a focus on how parents are summoned as (1) consumers or choosers of education services; (2) governors and overseers of schools and (3) producers and founders of schools.  相似文献   

Synthesis of thiadiazole-based Schiff base metal complexes and their inhibition rate to superoxide anion free radical

A new series of Schiff base ligands were synthesized by the condensation of 2-amino-5-mercaptan-l,3,4-thiadiazole and salicylaldehyde or 2,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde and their derivatives with choroacetic acid, and further reaction with corresponding metal acetate to form metal complexes. The compositions and structures of the ligands and their complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivities, electronic absorption spectra and infra-red spectra. Their inhibition rates to free radical, such as O2, were also tested. The results show that all of the obtained complexes display significant activities, among which the copper（Ⅱ） complexes have the best inhibitive effects.  相似文献

将空气中的苯、甲苯、二甲苯用自制活性炭采样管吸附,经二硫化碳解吸,利用OV-101型毛细管色谱柱分离,使用氢火焰离子检测器检测,以标准样品进行定性,以峰面积进行定量。分别对测试方法的灵敏度、精确度、准确度等方面进行了研究,结果表明该方法的主要技术指标符合室内环境空气监测的要求。  相似文献

变压器是供配电系统中的核心设备,这些设备一旦出现故障,将对生产造成严重影响。及时了解油浸变压器内部运行情况并发现故障苗头,对保证变压器安全、可靠、优质运行有十分重要的意义。对于油浸式变压器,线圈和铁蕊全部浸没在变压器油中,无法通过肉眼及直接测量来判断变压器的故障隐患,必须采用一定的技术方法来了解变压器的运行状况,气相色谱技术的运用充分解决了这一难题。拟对气相色谱技术在变压器故障分析中的作用进行探讨。  相似文献
