STEM教育作为全球工程教育的新理念已成为学界关注的热点。然而,如何实现STEM教育的本土化教学却存在诸多的现实困惑。研究提出了一种基于STEM教育理念的PBL教学模式设计,即聚焦工程创新素养、工程人文素养、AI素养的人才培养目标设计;注重探究—实践—交流的科学程序设计;依据循证实践的多维多层评价设计;促进产学融合、专业与通识融合的环境保障设计。该模式在AI通识课程进行三轮教学实践,研究表明,基于STEM教育理念的PBL教学模式能够提高学生的学习投入度,提升学生的工程创新素养、工程人文素养、AI素养,增强学生的学习体验和教学满意度,并促进了产学研深度融合,可为高校一流本科教育教学改革和工程科技创新人才培养提供参考和借鉴。  相似文献

创客教育与STEAM教育的融合,为K12教育的综合实践课程和信息技术课程带来时代性的变革。对创客教育和STEAM教育的起源到发展进行文献调研,发现创客对STEAM教育起到优化的作用,为STEAM教育的实施提供工程案例和创新思想。对二者结合对中小学教育的作用以及遇到的困难进行分析,发现目前中小学缺乏健全的创客教育教学设计模式、校内创客空间建设有待完善、创客教育人才、资金等资源的不足。其未来发展和研究方向有认知学徒式培养、去精英化培养、创客教育教学设计模式、空间设计及平台建设等。  相似文献

In this paper, we identify beliefs about teaching and patterns of instruction valued and emphasized by science, technology, engineering, and mathematics faculty in higher education in the USA. Drawing on the notion that effective teaching is student-centered rather than teacher-centered and must include a balance of knowledge-, learner-, community-, and assessment-centered learning environments; we use qualitative interview data to explore how faculty's reported beliefs about teaching are associated with their consideration of these four types of environments. Findings indicated that although a range of beliefs about teaching emerged, most were firmly located in knowledge-centered learning environments, with little or no focus on the remaining three learning environments. Furthermore, even patterns of instruction that were heavily student-centered were situated within a knowledge-centered learning framework. We argue that for student-centered instruction to be truly successful, faculty must consider all four learning environments in crafting and facilitating the classroom environment.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Undergraduate research experience has been shown to enhance student learning and improve persistence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Researchers studying undergraduate research experiences have largely focused on student outcomes and have seldom investigated the outcomes of graduate and postdoctoral mentors. Here, we report a non-credit, year-long mentor professional development program designed for graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and research staff in STEM. Mentors attended a series of six interactive and discussion-based workshops and mentored first-year undergraduate students in independent summer research projects. We report evaluation findings for three mentor cohorts using a combination of qualitative analysis of mentoring philosophies and quantitative assessment of pre- and post-surveys about mentoring objectives and skills. Results indicate that mentors gained self-efficacy in some objectives and skills. However, many other objectives and skills remained unchanged. We explore possible explanations for the lack of more broad-scale gains across survey items and present ideas for program improvement.  相似文献

Current data suggest fewer females than males continue to be interested in engineering and that this gender gap is first evidenced during middle school years. One might expect that female engineering role models would encourage adolescent girls to pursue future careers in engineering and thereby increase the girls’ interests in and attitudes towards science and mathematics. This study sought to correlate middle school girls’ overall confidence in science and mathematics with a year-long, afterschool mentoring program led by female engineering students from a local university. The results demonstrated that there was a significant correlation between the quality of the mentoring relationship and the girls’ confidence in mathematics. The relationship between female role models and young girls’ attitudes toward science and mathematics is discussed.  相似文献

Among the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), much attention has been paid to the influences of math- and science-related learning contexts on students’ STEM major selection. However, the technology and engineering learning contexts that are linked to STEM major selection have been overlooked. In response, a nationally representative sample of young adults in the US was used to investigate the relationship between technology-based activities and students’ STEM major choices in 4-year postsecondary institutions. Multilevel structural equation modelling (ML-SEM) revealed that the frequent use of video or computer games was related strongly to students’ STEM major selections in 4-year postsecondary institutions, after taking into account demographic characteristics and math achievement scores. The results provide evidence that promoting technology-rich learning environments is a significant factor in motivating students to pursue STEM careers.  相似文献

This study focuses on the structures and relationships involved in one-step additive and multiplicative problems. Thirty-three problems were given to 450 students in grades 2, 3 and 4. The analysis of results showed that the facility ratio of the problems differs by structure, by situation and by the sequence of the data within the same situation. It was also verified that students’ ability to solve one-step problems increases with age, but the relative difficulty of the problems is grade independent. Four cognitive developmental levels were indicated. It is envisaged that teachers may facilitate students to develop efficient problem solving schema networks, by hierarchically sequencing activities related to one-step problems.  相似文献

In this article, we report on the challenges entailed in the development of concepts, methods, and strategies for designing and implementing a cross-national research study of the first-years of school-mathematics teaching, including an exploration of how beginning mathematics teachers differ in their preparation, knowledge for teaching, teaching practice, working conditions, and pupil characteristics. The study was designed as a proof-of-concept for a study of teaching and teacher education to be implemented by educationalists, teacher educators, and early career teachers as an ongoing professional endeavor. Primary among the challenges was the development of the sampling design and the construction of measures.  相似文献

近年来,STEM教育成为引导全球教育改革的新风向标,为科技馆科普创新提供了新的探究视角。在对STEM教育与科技馆展品教育的特点进行分析的基础上,本文以“小球旅程知多少”展品教育活动为例,探讨了在STEM教育理念下科技馆依托展品开展教育活动的意义、特点及其一般规律;提出要基于科学情境,结合科学、技术和工程问题,将传统的展品教育活动转化为体现STEM理念的教育活动。  相似文献
