阅读是语言输入和习得语言知识的主要途径,在众多情感因素中,自我效能感对英语阅读有着较大的影响。通过问卷调查并利用SPSS进行数据分析,探索非英语专业大学生的英语阅读自我效能感水平和阅读策略使用情况以及以上两个方面的相关关系。结果表明:非英语专业大学生的英语阅读自我效能感处于中等水平且阅读策略的使用频率不高;非英语专业大学生在阅读自我效能感水平上存在显著的性别差异;非英语专业大学生的英语阅读自我效能感和阅读策略使用频率存在显著的正相关关系。 相似文献

Learning difficulties have been found to dilute the possibilities that young adults have in their educational careers. However, during the last few decades, education has become increasingly important for employment and overall life satisfaction. In the present study, we were interested in the effects of mathematical and reading difficulties and socioemotional and behavioural problems (measured at age 16) on three educational situations at age 21: delayed graduation from upper secondary education, short educational trajectory and not being engaged in education, employment or training (NEET). The participants (N = 597; 304 females, 293 males) were one age cohort of ninth graders in general education classes, who were followed for five years after completion of compulsory education. This time frame included two different transition phases: first, from comprehensive education to upper secondary education, and second, from upper secondary education to further studies or to working life. Structural equation modelling was used as analysis method. The findings show that mathematical and reading difficulties as well as socioemotional and behavioural problems had significant long-term effects on the participants’ educational careers. New in part was that these learning difficulties seemed to have somewhat divergent emphases on the three investigated life situations: (1) mathematical difficulties, more strongly than reading difficulties, caused the students to attain lower levels of education, (2) mathematical difficulties and socioemotional problems predicted a student ending up in the NEET group and (3) reading difficulties and behavioural problems predicted delayed graduation from upper secondary education. 相似文献

ABSTRACT This is a review essay of Joseph North’s Literary Criticism: A Concise Political History. I interrogate many of North’s claims, most notably his argument about the way a shift from literary criticism to literary scholarship has blunted the capacity of people working in literary studies to engage in a socially critical praxis. I use his book as an occasion to explore the relationship between literary studies (as ‘knowledge’) and the meaning-making that occurs within English classrooms when students engage with the texts chosen for study. I argue that North’s failure to make connections between English teaching and the literary critical projects of people like I.A. Richards, F.R. Leavis and Raymond Williams ultimately limits the reach of his book. For each of these critics, literary criticism was deeply embedded in an educational project that extended far beyond the confines of the academy, and their literary criticism might usefully be reread in these terms. 相似文献

The effects of computer-presented automatization exercises in a group of 14 poor readers were assessed in comparison to a
matched control group of 14 poor readers that received computer-presented exercises aimed at the use of context for word identification
and comprehension. Training took place three sessions a week for 15 minutes per session and lasted about two months in each
group. Results showed that the automatization or “speed” group progressed more than the context group in word and text reading
efficiency, and the effect transferred to more complex word types than the CVC word type that was presented in the exercises.
Both groups progressed to the same extent in accuracy, but the speed group made more progress in speed. No effects were found
for reading comprehension. The findings make clear that computer-supported automatization exercises can be effective in reducing
reading problems of poor readers in a short period of time. Implications for practice are discussed. 相似文献
