Steps Toward More Effective Implementation of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing

The goal of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing is to improve testing practices, but their impact on practice appears spotty. Self-regulation clearly fails in some instances. The establishment of an external agency to oversee testing practices and adherence to the Standards would face substantial hurdles, and the ambiguity of many of the Standards would hobble such an organization if one were created. Many of the Standards are general statements of principle, and past controversies make clear that we in the field often disagree about the reasons for them, their applicability to specific cases, and their practical meaning in specific contexts. This paper argues that the field should follow two approaches to lessen this ambiguity. First, using journals, conferences, and other vehicles, we should foster more frequent and more protracted debate about the practical meaning of key Standards, such as 13.6 and 13.7, which mandate that a decision that will have a "major impact" on a student should not be based on a single score. Second, future revisions of the Standards should use concrete examples of testing practices to clarify the meaning of the Standards, much as the legal system uses case law to clarify the meaning of the general principles embodied in statutes .  相似文献

论综合运输体系的效率标准——兼论运价在综合运输体系中的作用

本文提出了衡量综合运输体系的三个效率标准,即货运弹性与货运强度标准、经济里程与平均运距标准和优势资源利用率标准;根据上述标准,作者在实证考察我国综合运输体系效率的基础上,指出应当让运价即市场在运输方式的配置中发挥主导作用,并从运价调整的依据、目标与方式几方面提出了具体建议。  相似文献   

Can a Teacher‐Led State Assessment System Work?

Recent implementation of Nebraska's Standards-based Teacher-led Assessment and Reporting System (STARS) introduced a unique opportunity to examine the benefits and drawbacks of a teacher-led state assessment system. STARS is unique among state assessment systems in that statewide tests are replaced by locally developed assessments designed by teachers. Benefits of this system are found to be greater teacher use of results for instructional planning, greater diagnostic utility of the assessments, and gains in assessment literacy. Disadvantages include the time-consuming and stressful nature of creating localized assessments. Compatibility of STARS with the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act are discussed.  相似文献

近年来,随着计算机技术的发展,计算机绘图逐步取代了图板和手工绘图。工科院校均开设了AutoCAD这门课程。AutoCAD软件的功能强大,但它的初始模板在许多方面不符合我国《机械制图》国家标准。该课程仅要求学生如何使用AutoCAD,并没有涉及到较多的国家标准知识。因此,如何教授学生使用AutoCAD绘制出符合国家标准的图样值得注意和研究。  相似文献   

医学期刊稿约中统计报告规范的现状及完善建议

采用分层随机抽样的方法选择《科技期刊世界影响力指数报告》(2020版)中150种医药卫生期刊的稿约作为研究对象,分析其统计报告规范现状,并提出相应的稿约统计报告规范细则完善建议。研究发现,107种(71.33%)医学期刊在稿约中声明了统计报告规范审查的要求,不同语种、子学科分类、数据库收录医学期刊统计报告规范审查的要求差异较大。英文医学期刊统计报告规范意识较强,超过半数(55.05%)中文医学期刊统计报告规范意识有待提高;稿约统计报告规范表述笼统宽泛,操作和指导性不强;医学统计学名词和符号不规范,稿约细则表述不严谨。医学期刊应完善稿约细则,提高作者统计报告规范意识;规范统计学审核流程,强化编辑统计报告规范把关责任,这将有助于提高医学论文统计学内容质量。  相似文献
