In 1219 an encounter took place between a Christian from Italy, Francis of Assisi, and the Muslim Sultan of Egypt, al-Malik al-Kāmil. This meeting took place at Damietta in northern Egypt during the progress of the Fifth Crusade. Over a period of perhaps three weeks, religious dialogue took place between Francis and al-Kāmil, after which time the Sultan had Francis escorted safely back to the Christian camp. It is possible to discern from the writings of Francis after his return from Egypt that the meeting had had a deep religious impact upon him, realised in the latter years of his life. It can be said that both Francis and al-Kāmil experienced through their encounter what the Christian theologian Bernard Lonergan has spoken of as a conversion into a new horizon. The historical encounter between Francis and the Sultan witnesses to the fact that through religious conversion, it is possible for members of different religious faiths to arrive at a common vision of universal peace and reconciliation.  相似文献

Methionine synthase reductase (MTRR) is an important enzyme of the folate/homocysteine pathway. It is responsible for regulation of methionine enzyme by reductive methylation. A common variant A66G is reported in the FMN-binding domain of the MTRR gene, which leads to substitution of isoleucine by methionine (I22M) in MTRR enzyme with reduced activity. Reduced catalytic activity of enzyme leads to high homocysteine concentration in blood and increases risk for numerous diseases. The frequency of A66G polymorphism varies in different ethnic groups. The present study has been designed to evaluate the frequency of MTRR A66G gene polymorphism in the Eastern UP population by PCR–RFLP method. Along with this we also performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the global prevalence of this polymorphism. Databases were screened to identified the eligible studies. The prevalence of the G allele and GG genotype was determined by the use of prevalence proportion with 95% CI. Open meta-analyst software was used for the meta-analysis. Total 1000 blood samples were analyzed, the frequencies of A and G alleles were 0.35 and 0.65 respectively. Meta-analysis results revealed that the prevalence of G allele and GG genotype were 49.4% (95% CI 40.6–58.1, p ≤ 0.001) and 24.3% (95% CI 17.8–30.9, p ≤ 0.001) respectively. In sub-group meta-analysis, the lowest frequency of G allele was found in South America (32.7%; 95% CI 14.1–51.3, p ≤ 0.001), and highest in Asia (56.4%; 95% CI 39.5–73.3, p ≤ 0.001). The results of the meta-analysis showed that the Asian population has the highest frequency of G allele and highest frequency of the GG genotype was found in the European population.  相似文献

建立实验室开放管理制度是为了本科生在实验室内能够安全顺利地进行开放实验,能够独立正确地操作实验室内常用仪器设备。结合同济大学生命科学与技术学院实验教学中心面向本科生开放的实际运行情况,提出了实验室开放管理制度,包括"实验室安全教育"培训、"仪器设备使用规范"培训、仪器设备使用预约、实验前准备工作、实验中注意事项和实验后整理工作。该制度实施后,使本科生可以利用有限的开放时间提高开放实验效率,逐渐养成了良好的实验习惯,实验操作前准备充分,实验过程中规范操作,实验操作后清洁整理,强化了本科生的实验室工作能力,为其做毕业设计以及继续深造打下了良好的基础,同时也有效提高了实验管理员对开放实验室的管理效率。  相似文献

The 5G communication technology serving a wide range of vertical industries is maturing, which provides a possible boost for the development of smart education and lays a foundation for solving the principal contradiction in current education. With the characteristics of ultra-high speed, low latency, low energy consumption, massive network capacity, and high reliability, the 5G technology is applied with other technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), big data, and blockchain to promote the application upgrading of intelligent education technology. This paper analyzes the intelligent education technology and its eight typical applications in the 5G era, which include smart safe campus, integrated learning spaces, synchronous cyber classrooms, teachers’ professional development, robot learning partners, mobile and ubiquitous learning, virtual simulation training, and smart e-textbooks. Then, it discusses how intelligent education technology promotes changes in the modes of learning and teaching in the 5G era from three dimensions: individual learning, collaborative group learning, and classroom-based collective teaching. At last, the framework of smart education in the 5G era is proposed from the perspectives of intelligent education technology and its typical applications, changes in learning and teaching, and the new ecosystem of smart education.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to promote more open-ended inquiry activities in junior high school science lessons in the current educational system with fixed textbooks. Researchers adapted existing curriculum-based experimental activities for more open-ended inquiry ones. In addition, the whole class was provided with more opportunities to explore complete activities in limited teaching time. This study used Hazel's proposals of levels of inquiry. The method was to carry out the current 8th grade experiments through the step-by-step teaching material modification (from levels of inquiry 0 to 2b) and to combine the experimental teaching method with the 5E (engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate) learning cycle. After a quasi-experimental study, we compared the traditional teaching method with the step-by-step open-ended inquiry teaching one on 8th graders' basic and integrated science process skills and academic achievements. The study result showed that the academic achievement in the experimental group, based on the same instructional time, was not worse than that in the control group. No significant difference was found on the total scores of the basic science process skills between the two groups, but a significant difference was found on the "predicting" dimension. There was a significant difference on the total scores of the integrated science process skills between the two groups. Significant differences were found on "interpreting data" as well as "experiment designing" dimensions. Hence, the study indicated that it could enhance students' inquiry ability through step-by-step openly inquiry levels to change the existing curricula, which served as a reference of educational reform.  相似文献
