In the 802.11b networks, the guarantee of an equal long-run channel access probability causes performance anomaly in a multi-rate wireless cell. Much interest has been involved in this issue and many effective mechanisms have been proposed. The usual MAC layer solutions include the initial contention window adaptation, the maximum transfer unit size adaptation and the packet bursting. In this paper, we propose a novel approach which introduces a new parameter called the transmission prob- ability pt to the legacy protocol. By adjusting pt according to the transmission rate, the proposed scheme can solve the performance anomaly problem cleanly. Throughput analysis and performance evaluation show that our scheme achieves significant im- provement in the aggregate throughput and the fairness. 相似文献

AbstractLibrarians have been seeking solutions to improve library user experience. The popularity of mobile devices leads to the increasing demand for reliable and efficient wireless communication in libraries. The City Tech librarians make an effort to improve Wi-Fi network to address such challenge. The Wi-Fi survey results indicate that students are dissatisfied with the library Wi-Fi access and hope to get better wireless communication for their mobile devices. To seek approaches to the improvement of Wi-Fi speed and reliability, the authors adopted NetSpot Pro loaded with the library building map to audit wireless network performance. The Wi-Fi site survey shows the library Wi-Fi network has not only weak Wi-Fi signal strength, but also experiences severe interference and overlapping channels. The study suggests that the Library and campus IT can enhance the Wi-Fi network performance by adding more wireless APs and optimizing the locations of existing APs, Wi-Fi network setting, and wireless connection procedure. By upgrading the CUNY Fiber Network and network improvement strategy, the Library can provide effective wireless communication for student learning and research, and ultimately give students memorable library experiences. 相似文献

Biotransformation of phytosterol(PS) by a newly isolated mutant Mycobacterium neoaurum ZJUVN-08 to produce androstenedione has been investigated in this paper.The parameters of the biotransformation process were optimized using fractional factorial design and response surface methodology.Androstenedione was the sole product in the fermentation broth catalyzed by the mutant M.neoaurum ZJUVN-08 strain.Results showed that molar ratio of hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin(HP-β-CD) to PS and substrate concentrations were the two most significant factors affecting androstenedione production.By analyzing the statistical model of three-dimensional surface plot,the optimal process conditions were observed at 0.1 g/L inducer,pH 7.0,molar ratio of HP-β-CD to PS 1.92:1,8.98 g/L PS,and at 120 h of incubation time.Under these conditions,the maximum androstenedione yield was 5.96 g/L and nearly the same with the non-optimized(5.99 g/L),while the maximum PS conversion rate was 94.69% which increased by 10.66% compared with the non-optimized(84.03%).The predicted optimum conditions from the mathematical model were in agreement with the verification experimental results.It is considered that response surface methodology was a powerful and efficient method to optimize the parameters of PS biotransformation process. 相似文献

We consider the problem of building structure estimation using microwave ray tomography. A Bayesian formulation is developed, and a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) procedure is used to sample the posterior distribution, which is based on a data likelihood defined in terms of a residual misfit between observed and predicted waveforms. To accelerate model optimization, a simulated annealing approach is combined with the MCMC, using specific model moves to explore each component of the model space. Our approach is applicable to data acquired in the frequency or time domain and for monostatic or bistatic acquisition modes. Experimental data for a multi-wall laboratory test structure were acquired using a horn antenna connected to a vector network analyzer and used to validate both the forward model and the inversion approach. Although, in true remote sensing problems for building structure, the model order is usually unknown, in this initial study, the actual inversion experiment is performed in a reduced-dimension model space for which a subset of the variables are taken as known or fixed. Generalization to the variable-dimension problem can be achieved by using reversible jump MCMC sampling procedures. 相似文献
