The purpose of this study is to investigate the elements of Islamic children’s books that are written in English by focusing on books that are available in the Malaysian market and published in Malaysia. This study applies the content analysis method, by examining the selected books of their subject matter as well as the language. The results of the study reveal that Islamic books written for children in English are distinctive in terms of the content and language features. 相似文献

The enormity of the amount of learning materials in e-learning has led to the difficulty of locating suitable learning materials
for a particular learning topic, creating the need for recommendation tools within a learning context. In this paper, we aim
to address this need by proposing a novel e-learning recommender system framework that is based on two conceptual foundations—peer
learning and social learning theories that encourage students to cooperate and learn among themselves. Our proposed framework
works on the idea of recommending learning materials with a similar content and indicating the quality of learning materials
based on good learners’ ratings. A comprehensive set of experiments were conducted to measure the system accuracy and its
impact on learner’s performance. The obtained results show that the proposed e-learning recommender system has a significant
improvement in the post-test of about 12.16% with the effect size of 0.6 and 13.11% with the effect size of 0.53 when compared
to the e-learning with a content-based recommender system and the e-learning without a recommender system, respectively. Furthermore,
the proposed recommender system performed better in terms of having a small rating deviation and a higher precision as compared
to e-learning with a content-based recommender system. 相似文献

Litsea elliptica Blume leaves have been traditionally used as medicinal herbs because of its antimutagenicity, che-mopreventative and insecticidal properties. In this study, the toxic effects of L. elliptica essential oil against Sprague-Dawley rat's red blood cells (RBCs) were evaluated. L. elliptica essential oil was given by oral gavage 5 times per week for 3 treated groups in the doses of 125, 250, and 500 mg/(kg body weight), respectively, and the control group received distilled water. Full blood count, RBC osmotic fragility, RBC morphological changes, and RBC membrane lipid were analyzed 28 d after the treatment. Although L. elliptica essential oil administration had significantly different effects on hemoglobin (Hb), mean cell hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), mean cell volume (MCV), and mean cell hemoglobin (MCH) in the experimental groups as compared to the control group (P<0.05), the values were still within the normal range. L. elliptica induced morphological changes of RBC into the form of echinoeyte. The percentage of echinocyte increased significantly among the treated groups in a dose-response manner (P<0.001). The concentrations of RBC membrane phospholipids and cholesterol of all treated groups were significantly lower than those of control group (P<0.001). However, the RBC membrane osmotic fragility and total proteins of RBC membrane findings did not differ significantly between control and treated groups (P>0.05). It is concluded that structural changes in the RBC membrane due to L. elliptica essential oil administration did not cause severe membrane damage. 相似文献

天然植物色素可以作为研制染料敏化太阳能电池的一种颜料(光敏剂)。西藏核桃果皮富含丰富色素,本文利用萃取、色谱分离技术提取了西藏林芝核桃果皮色素。用蒸馏水从500g干核桃果皮中提取获得了21.03g色素,产率达4.21%。用四氯化碳从500g鲜核桃果皮中提取获得了0.35g色素。利用紫外可见光度计对以上两种萃取流程获得的色素进行了吸光度测定。结果显示核桃果皮色素对波长越短的光吸收能力越强。紫外区有最大的吸光度,然后随着波长的增大,吸光度逐渐变小。为今后研制色素增感型太阳能电池提供了萃取色素颜料技术。 相似文献

Despite considerable research in advanced countries on public perceptions of and attitudes to modern biotechnology, limited effort has been geared towards developing a structural model of public attitudes to modern biotechnology. The purpose of this paper is to identify the relevant factors influencing public attitudes towards genetically modified (GM) soybean, and to analyze the relationship between all the attitudinal factors. A survey was carried out on 1,017 respondents from various stakeholder groups in the Klang Valley region. Results of the survey have confirmed that attitudes towards complex issues such as biotechnology should be seen as a multifaceted process. The most important factors predicting support for GM soybean are the specific application-linked perceptions about the benefits, acceptance of risk and moral concern while risk and familiarity are significant predictors of benefit and risk acceptance. Attitudes towards GM soybean are also predicted by several general classes of attitude. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to examine the associations between learning support, student engagement and academic achievement among adolescents. We also examined the extent to which affective, behavioural and cognitive engagement play a mediating role in students’ perceived learning support from parents, teachers and peers, and contribute to their academic achievement. Malaysian adolescents (aged 12–17 years, N = 2359) completed a self-administered questionnaire based on an adapted version of the Student Engagement And Learning Support Scale. Item and factor analyses were performed to ensure appropriate psychometric properties of the scales. Pearson correlation analysis identified the relationship between variables and structural equation modelling was conducted to identify the role of student engagement as a mediator between learning support and academic achievement. The study provides empirical support for the hypothesis that perceptions of learning support influence adolescents’ affective, behavioural and cognitive engagement in school in different ways, which in turn influences their academic achievement. Cognitive engagement seemed to be the best predictor of academic achievement and the strongest mediator for all three types of learning support. Behavioural engagement was negatively associated with academic achievement, and affective engagement did not have a direct relationship with academic achievement, although it contributed indirectly through cognitive and behavioural engagement. The results of this study provide a basis for policy makers to initiate prevention and intervention programs for increasing the quality of parent–child, teacher–student and peer–peer relationships which ultimately could lead to improved academic competence and outcomes. 相似文献
