The present work examined the influence of topic interest on the strength of différent components of text representation and
long-term retention according to the model of text processing by van Dijk and Kintsch (1983). A Series of relevant personality
characteristics were assessed to control for alternative explanations of interest effect. A total of 286 8th, 9th, and 10th
grade students was assigned to either a high topic interest or a low topic interest group. The participants had to read tow
différent texts (two weeks). Immediately afterwards, various process variables were assessed: Finally, participants weren
given a recognition and verification tests, designed to assess the strength of the verbatim, propositional, and situational
text representation. One Week after reading, students completed a recall rneasure: The interindividual finding with respect
to the components of the representation of text revealed that the verbatim and the prepositional representation were not very
predictable. The intraindividual analyses were more successful. The results were more consistent and interpretable with respect
to the recall of text. It was shown quite clearly that the effects of interest are not only short-term. Most importantly,
it could be shown that topic interest is related to text recall independently of other significant predictors. 相似文献

The focus of this paper is on the design of a H∞ decentralized observation and control approach for a class of nonlinear disturbed interconnected systems. The proposed scheme is formulated as an optimization problem in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) to compute the robust observation and control gain matrices simultaneously, to maximize the bounds on the nonlinearity which the system can tolerate without going unstable, to improve the performance of the proposed control strategy by minimizing the H∞ criterion and to ensure the stability of the closed loop system in the Lyapunov framework despite the exogenous disturbances applied to the subsystems. A simulation is provided on a 3-machine power system, which generators are strongly nonlinear interconnected, to show the efficiency of the designed approach. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose to develop algorithmically and implement a nonlinear decentralized optimal control for multimachine power systems, based on a successive approximation approach for designing the optimal controller with respect to quadratic performance index. The advantage of this approach is to transform the high order coupling nonlinear two-point boundary value (TPBV) problem into a sequence of linear decoupling TPBV problem, which uniformly converges to the optimal control for nonlinear interconnected large scale systems. We apply this approach to a 3-machine power system which generators are strongly nonlinear interconnected, and containing possible uncertainties on the parameters. We demonstrate clearly via advanced simulations that this approach brings better performances than other decentralized controller, improving effectively transient stability of these power systems in few iterative sequences for different cases of perturbations. 相似文献

Knowledge management is gaining prominence in academia and the world of business practice. The need for organizations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to empower themselves through knowledge management cannot be ignored. Yet, not much empirical evidence on the subject can be found in the literature. This study investigates the relationship between knowledge management and organizational performance in the UAE. The knowledge management dimensions considered in this paper are organizational culture, organizational infrastructure, technical infrastructure, management support, reward and vision clarity. Organizational performance is measured in terms of efficiency, customer satisfaction, decision-making, quality of work and financial benefits. A questionnaire was used to collect data from general managers, functional managers, IT managers and chief knowledge officers from a variety of business sectors. Results of one sample t-test show that the dimensions used in this study enhance performance improvement. Results also show that except for reward and vision clarity, all investigated knowledge management dimensions are significantly correlated with performance improvement. 相似文献
