In Korean information retrieval, compound nouns play an important role in improving precision in search experiments. There are two major approaches to compound noun indexing in Korean: statistical and linguistic. Each method, however, has its own shortcomings, such as limitations when indexing diverse types of compound nouns, over-generation of compound nouns, and data sparseness in training. In this paper, we propose a corpus-based learning method, which can index diverse types of compound nouns using rules automatically extracted from a large corpus. The automatic learning method is more portable and requires less human effort, although it exhibits a performance level similar to the manual-linguistic approach. 自然语言的理解是机器翻译(简称M T)的基础。机器理解汉语所面临的主要困难,包括自动分词,歧义消解,意义的多层次解读等。自然语言处理中的这些难题使得计算机难以对汉语语句做出正确的描述。基于规则的汉英机器翻译的质量还有待提高。基于语料库的方法为机器翻译研究提供了新的途径。将基于规则的理性主义方法同基于语料库的经验主义方法结合起来,必将极大地提高汉英机器的翻译的质量。 相似文献

本文围绕北京地区某研究型大学开设的博士生英语课程,介绍其所采用的研究论文语类分析和语料库文本分析相结合的教学模式｡该课程首先讲授研究论文各个语篇部分的典型语步及凸显特征与交际功能。同时,学生以学业导师所推荐论文为练兵场,观察、讨论并标注典型语步,进一步归纳各语步趋于使用的词汇语法､短语和句式特征。课程反馈表明,该模式明显促进了学生学术交际能力的发展,在有限的学时内提高了研究生学术英语教学的实效性。 相似文献

This study explores the use of a corpus of classroom discourse data (Singapore Corpus of Research in Education or SCoRE) to facilitate the professional development of English language (EL) teachers in Singapore. A survey was first conducted to probe the knowledge base and belief system of EL teachers in three key domains: epistemology, pedagogy, and discourse. This was followed by a discourse analysis of the SCoRE corpus to mine resources that could address the specific professional needs of teachers identified through the survey. Survey findings suggest that EL teachers in Singapore are less secure in epistemology than pedagogy or discourse-related issues. The efficacy of using corpus-based materials to help teachers reflect on and develop their professional competencies was tested through a workshop. The paper concludes with a discussion of the implications of using authentic and situated corpus resources to facilitate teachers’ reflective practice and professional development. 相似文献

Prior research into the role of business librarians in academic program reviews has relied on surveys and interviews, revealing that librarians perceive that they are marginalized in the review process. Using a collection of program review documentation produced for the reviews of nine graduate programs offered at a Canadian business school, this study employs corpus-based techniques to obtain direct measures of librarian involvement. The findings provide objective confirmation that business librarians are not well integrated into program reviews overall, and that their contribution to the reviews of professional programs is even more limited than their contribution to the reviews of research-oriented programs. Based on best practices and missed opportunities observed as part of this study, seven strategies are suggested for integrating business librarians more fully in the program review process for the benefit of all program stakeholders. 相似文献
