| 摘 要： | 英语修辞格矛盾修饰法是将一对互相矛盾的词语巧妙地运用于语言实践，以产生警句式的修辞效果。被放在一起的两个词往往词性不同，语法功能不同，属于修饰和被修饰的关系。修饰成分和被修饰成分之间内部看起来有矛盾，实则相反相成。文章从oxymoron在语言实践中的应用，从它的结构、修辞效果、汉译方法及在大学英语教学当中的作用几个方面进行分析。

| Abstract: | Oxymoron is a widely used rhetorical device, which applies two contradictory words or phrases to a texture in order to produce a special effect. The two contradictory words or phrases usually have different part of speeches, and grammatical functions. One word is used to modify the other. They are both opposite and complementary to each other. This article is to analyze its formation, figurative effect, translating method and its function in college English teaching. |
