| 摘 要： | 后工业时代的来临使得教育被认为是社会持续性发展的重要途径。由此，在美国社会掀起了一股推展终身教育的社会思潮，并取得了重大进展，主要表现在：成人教育走向专业化；终身教育成为制定教育政策和法律的重要原则；终身教育资源走向丰富化和网络化；社区学院成为推进终身教育的重要机构。

In America,there has been a social mind of developing lifelong education,and some advances achievements have been gained as follows:adult education as a specialization field is becoming true;lifelong education is an important principle for making educational policies and laws;there are abundance and networking of lifelong education resource;community college is an important institution of lifelong education. |
