| 摘 要： | 仲均安是英国浸礼会传教士,在放弃经商之后来华传教。在中国的近30年里,他一方面宣扬教义,一方面从事世俗活动。为了从根本上解决教民贫穷的状况,仲均安尝试从经济上帮助教徒。他费尽心思进行棉纺织业、改良农业等试验,不过并没有产生预期的效果。传教士发展地方经济的意图在近代中国的历史情境下很难实现。

| Abstract: | Alfred George Jones,a British missionary,gave up his business and came to China to evangelize. In his nearly thirty years in China,he not only evangelized,but also devoted himself to activities in society.In order to solve the condition of poverty fundamentally,he tried to help missionaries in the respect of economy.He tried his best to carry out experiments in cotton industry and agriculture,but didn＇ t produce expected results.It proved that the purpose of foreign missionaries to develop local economy could hardly come true in that time in China. |
