| Abstract: | Functional linguistics has analyzed textual coherence in a detailed and systematic manner and uncovered the important part that lexical cohesion plays in textual coherence. This paper, by applying functional linguistic method, intends to approach the role that lexical cohesion plays in textual coherence in the aspects of repetition, synonym, antonym and lexical collocation as well. |
