| Abstract: | The vocabulary is not only important in English teaching, but also the key link of improving students＇ English proficiency. Cognitive linguistics has important meaning to college English vocabulary teaching because of its obvious superiority. The article discussed the cognitive linguistics application in college English vocabulary teaching from three theories： basic category, prototype, and conceptual metaphor. |
