A Comparative Study on Subject Librarian Duties in Chinese and American University Libraries |

| Abstract: | This paper firstly discusses the development progress of subject librarian and the duties of each phase.Then a comparative analysis of subject librarian’s duties in Chinese and American university libraries is talked from four aspects:the number of subject librarians, the quality of subject librarians,the role orientation of the subject librarians and the personalized service offered by subject librarians. It proposes on this basis two suggestions,that is to strengthen the traditional duties and to carry out the personalized service in deep level. |
