| Abstract: | The functions, classification and design principles of columns in medical periodicals and the key points are discussed. The functions characterization, comprise reading guidance, orientation, classification and searching. The categories include comments, original articles, reviews, instructions, theories, contentions and discussions, popularization, publicity, information and mutual communications. The design principles consist of the management policy and aim adherence principle, the reader-oriented principle, the clinical requirements principle, the periodical characterization principle, the academic development principle, the periodical individualization enhancement principle, and the relative stability principle. The key points are creativity, time-effectiveness, rationality and orientation. |
