The primary goal of this study was to carry out an ego-centric citation and reference analysis of the works of the mathematician and computer scientist, Michael O. Rabin. Until recently only a single citation database was available for such research – the ISI Citation Indexes. In this study we utilized and compared three major sources that provide citation data: the Web of Science, Google Scholar and Citeseer. Most cited works, citation identity, citation image makers and coauthors were identified. The citation image makers acquired through these sources differ considerably. Advantages and shortcomings of each of the tools are discussed in the context of computer science. A major issue in computer science is multiple manifestations of a work, i.e., its publication in several venues (technical reports, proceedings, journals, collections). The implications of multiple manifestations for citation analysis are discussed.  相似文献

Research evaluation, which is an increasingly pressing issue, invariably relies on citation counts. In this contribution we highlight two concerns that the research community needs to pay attention to. One, in the world of search engine facilitated research, factors such as ease of Web discovery, ease of access, and content relevance, rather than quality, influence what gets read and cited. Two, research evaluation based on citation counts works against many types of high-quality works. We also elaborate on the implications of these points by examining a recent nationwide evaluation of researchers performed in Italy. We focus on our discipline (computer science), but we believe that our observations have relevance for a broad audience.  相似文献

A substantial amount of research has focused on the persistence or availability of Web citations. The present study analyzes Web citation distributions. Web citations are defined as the mentions of the URLs of Web pages (Web resources) as references in academic papers. The present paper primarily focuses on the analysis of the URLs of Web citations and uses three sets of data, namely, Set 1 from the Humanities and Social Science Index in China (CSSCI, 1998–2009), Set 2 from the publications of two international computer science societies, Communications of the ACM and IEEE Computer (1995–1999), and Set 3 from the medical science database, MEDLINE, of the National Library of Medicine (1994–2006). Web citation distributions are investigated based on Web site types, Web page types, URL frequencies, URL depths, URL lengths, and year of article publication. Results show significant differences in the Web citation distributions among the three data sets. However, when the URLs of Web citations with the same hostnames are aggregated, the distributions in the three data sets are consistent with the power law (the Lotka function).  相似文献

[目的/意义] 在信息检索、科技论文评价和知识结构演化方面,引文分析都起着至关重要的作用。随着格式化全文数据库的出现,引文分析迈入了4.0时代——全文引文分析阶段。但是,目前还没有中文的格式化全文数据库,这极大地制约了全文引文分析在我国科技文献中的研究和应用。[方法/过程] 在本文中我们提出建立高效的中文全文引文分析依赖的数据集和检索平台的方法,主要包括:1)提出了基于规则和SVM分类方法的论文元数据和引用提取方法;2)提出基于Spark平台的实现高效引文内容分析标准化数据集生成方法;3)提出建立引用内容的科技文献检索平台。[结果/结论] 引文内容分析标准化数据集的建立将全面提升全文引文分析在我国科技领域中的研究效能,提高科技文献查找精度。  相似文献

This article describes the results of our analysis of the data from the CiteSeer digital library. First, we examined the data from the point of view of source top-level Internet domains from which the data were collected. Second, we measured country shares in publications indexed by CiteSeer and compared them to those based on mainstream bibliographic data from the Web of Science and Scopus. And third, we concentrated on analyzing publications and their citations aggregated by countries. This way, we generated rankings of the most influential countries in computer science using several non-recursive as well as recursive methods such as citation counts or PageRank. We conclude that even if East Asian countries are underrepresented in CiteSeer, its data may well be used along with other conventional bibliographic databases for comparing the computer science research productivity and performance of countries.  相似文献

从LISA数据库提供的英文学术文献的引文著录格式入手,简单介绍了哈佛体系、英国标准体系、APA格式、MLA格式及芝加哥格式等一系列引文格式。接着从Elsevier、Spriger和Wiley这3个全文数据库中抽取部分期刊作为样本,调查这些引文格式在期刊中的实际应用情况,并分析了它们能百花齐放的原因。文章最后对我国学术期刊规范引文著录格式提出了几点建议。  相似文献

Author co-citation analysis (ACA) has been widely used in bibliometrics as an analytical method in analyzing the intellectual structure of science studies. It can be used to identify authors from the same or similar research fields. However, such analysis method relies heavily on statistical tools to perform the analysis and requires human interpretation. Web Citation Database is a data warehouse used for storing citation indices of Web publications. In this paper, we propose a mining process to automate the ACA based on the Web Citation Database. The mining process uses agglomerative hierarchical clustering (AHC) as the mining technique for author clustering and multidimensional scaling (MDS) for displaying author cluster maps. The clustering results and author cluster map have been incorporated into a citation-based retrieval system known as PubSearch to support author retrieval of Web publications.  相似文献

以Web of Science数据库为文献来源,应用Web of Science平台自带的分析工具和Histcite引文网络分析工具,通过文献检索、结果分析等方式,得出"雾霾"这一研究课题的发展脉络及发展态势,并通过两种引文分析工具之间不同的计量指标所展现的学科发展现象和统计结果的差异,进而得出在进行学科发展态势研究时,应该将这两个引文分析工具进行有机的结合,使得这两者互为补充,充分发挥各自的作用,更好地研究和分析学科引文脉络,使得统计结果更为全面、准确,为学科领域发展态势的研究提供有力的支撑。  相似文献

链接分析是近些年来国内图书情报学和计算机科学界一个共同关注的研究主题。本文以国内2000-2010年链接分析期刊论文的引文为对象,运用统计方法和比较方法对其进行了定量分析。研究发现,图书情报学和计算机科学链接分析的引文在时间分布、引用文献类型、引文语种等方面都存在较大的差异。本文还分析了两个学科领域的高被引作者和高被引文献。  相似文献

以有关情报学为主题的来自Web of Science 数据库的7 078条外文文献和CSSCI数据库的1 009条中文文献为研究对象,利用Cite Space软件对相关引文数据和主题词数据进行分析和处理,以知识图谱的形式整理了国内外历年的研究前沿,同时梳理了国内外情报学研究的重要的知识基础,对国内外情报学研究文献的发文量等进行了对比。本研究得出的结论为:情报学的研究力量主要集中在美国,英国、加拿大、澳大利亚、巴西、中国等亦有突出贡献;中国的情报学研究作为后起之秀,文献突现性是显而易见的;国内外在情报学研究中研究热点很相似,但各具特色,有些研究热点只是存在时间的先后问题,整体来看处于同步发展。  相似文献

Many regions of the European Union with a high degree of autonomy have elected very clearly to stimulate scientific research and technological development (R&D) as a specific means of promoting economic growth and the welfare of their citizens. In Spain, several autonomous regions have organised their efforts in science and technology by means of the adoption of regional R&D plans. In some cases, particular concern is taken to link the scope of scientific research with that of technology, but even in these few cases, it is acknowledged that little is known of the mechanisms by which the results of scientific research are translated into technological development, and how this latter in turn influences the objectives of scientific research. Our aim in this article is to study in greater depth the relationship between science and technological development in the various regions of Spain. The methodology that we apply to investigate the links between science and technology is based on an analysis of scientific citations in patent documents (non-patent citation (NPC)). The results obtained from this study provide some relevant data on the interconnection between the scientific and technological systems from a regional perspective.  相似文献

[目的/意义]考察软件技术的扩散动态、发展阶段及关键路径,深入认识软件技术的扩散规律,促进软件技术的跨领域、跨学科传播。[方法/过程]选取Web of Science核心合集2004-2019年CiteSpace相关论文381篇,基于扩散指标、扩散曲线和扩散路径分析探寻以CiteSpace为例的软件技术在学科领域间的扩散规律,考察不同阶段的扩散状态并预测扩散趋势,识别扩散网络中的关键主路径及关键节点。[结果/结论]CiteSpace被广泛应用于多个研究领域,主要包括计算机科学、工程、图书情报学、商业与经济等,不同学科对应的扩散区间具有差异性,呈现学科之间的领先-滞后现象;相关引用论文和发表论文逐年增加,目前处于扩散曲线的起飞阶段,预计短期内其扩散速率会保持加速增长,影响力进一步扩大;关键主路径上的文献节点对软件技术扩散发挥了重要作用。  相似文献

目前利用ESI学科分析体系对机构的发文信息的深入研究无法直接获得,这说明ESI学科评价分析体系也存在自身不足,需结合其他工具进行完善,以Web of Science数据库检索中国矿业大学地球学科发文信息为文献来源,结合ESI数据库和Histcite引文分析工具,通过文献检索、结果分析等引文分析方式,研究中国矿业大学地球学科发展的态势,得出更为详尽的学科发展现状及发展趋势。从两种不同评价分析工具之间得出的不同的计量指标所展现出的学科发展现象和统计结果差异的研究,表明HistCite引文分析工具作为ESI学科评估工具的辅助工具是可以实现的。HistCite引文分析工具与ESI学科评估工具结合使用,可以更全面深入地对学科发展进行分析、评价,从而为高校学科发展政策的制定提供详实的文献信息,为学科评价分析的研究提供有力的支撑。  相似文献

采用文献计量方法分析了国内外共词分析论文的研究特点。首先,基于Web of Science分析了国外共词分析研究论文的分布特点,得出了国外共词分析研究方向的高生产力的作者、国家、机构、期刊等,并分析了被引频次最高的几篇论文的特点;其次,基于重庆维普有限公司研制的《中文科技期刊数据库》(1989—2007)分析了国内共词分析文献的作者合作情况、期刊分布等。这将有利于我们掌握国内外共词研究法的核心作者、重心研究区域等。  相似文献

选择1999年、2004年和2009年社会科学学科中的情报学、历史学、新闻学、教育学和社会学的一种核心期刊中全部论文作为统计样本,对其网络引文的总体发展状况、网络引文语种和网络域名的引用情况等进行统计分析,以此对我国社会科学研究中对网络学术信息资源利用情况进行探讨。初步的结论是:社会科学网络引文率逐渐增长,情报学网络引文量最高,教育学、新闻学和社会学网络引文量较高,历史学网络引文量最低。  相似文献
