ABSTRACT The records of art conservators are important for many reasons. As people consider artwork a legacy of American culture so too will they also consider the records generated by individuals who have spent their working lives guaranteeing its long-term survival. Conservators and archival repositories need to work together to ensure that records relating to the treatment of art objects in their many forms be retained and made available to researchers generations from now. Some conservators and institutions have already begun to work together, most notably the conservators who have donated their papers to the Winterthur Museum. The American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works and The Getty Conservation Institute organized a two-day roundtable discussion in May 2003, bringing conservators and archivists together to discuss the next steps in archiving the records of art conservators. 相似文献

This is the first ever attempt of application in a country other than Italy of the output-to-input indicator FSS, to assess and compare the research performance of professors and universities, within and between countries. A special attention has been devoted to the presentation of the methodology developed to set up a common field classification scheme of professors, and to overcome the limited availability of comparable input data. Results of the comparison between countries, carried out in the 2011–2015 period, show similar average performances of professors, but noticeable differences in the distributions, whereby Norwegian professors are more concentrated in the tails. Norway shows notable higher performance in Mathematics and Earth and Space Sciences, while Italy in Biomedical Research and Engineering. 相似文献

Trainees in the library and information profession in Africa depend on textbooks that are written for an environment other than Africa because of the dearth of textbooks suited to the local environment. There are very few books that attempt to focus on Africa and none of these books can really be used as a basic text for teaching. This has greatly affected the training of library and information professionals in Africa as the trainees are exposed to the situations in Europe, America and Asia which are generally not relevant to the African environment. Several factors have been identified as responsible for the lack of African library and information science textbooks, including the relatively young age of the profession resulting in a low number of professionals in Africa that have the required expertise to write textbooks. The attitude of publishers to tertiary textbooks is another limiting factor, as they are not likely to make a profit given the small number of trainees in the continent. In short, publishers regard such a venture as non-profitable because of the limited market. Another problem is the lack of interest on the part of professional associations in the continent to promote the writing of textbooks. In order to ameliorate these problems, it is recommended that professionals in the continent should participate in team authorship, by drawing from a pool of expertise, with a view to writing relevant textbooks. Also, there is a need for professional associations and the relevant international agencies to promote the publishing of textbooks. Finally, there is a need for retired information professionals in the continent to form a consortium of marketing outfits for the purpose of marketing and distributing textbooks on the African library and information profession throughout Africa. 相似文献

[目的/意义] 大数据时代下,迫切需要数据分析人才来从海量的数据中发掘信息、揭示规律并帮助人们决策。作为专业教育的补充,数据分析类MOOC可以在较短时间内满足人们对数据分析课程内容的学习需求,通过分析其发展现状,将有助于更好地培养数据分析人才和发展数据科学。[方法/过程] 主要采用网络调查法对国内外数据分析MOOC的开设情况进行调查,在此基础上从教学内容、教学方式和教学效果三个方面进行分析。[结果/结论] 调查发现,数据分析类MOOC存在着教学内容上传统与新兴知识并存,教学方式上理论知识与实践技能并重的特点。为了更好地适应大数据时代人才需求的特点,要积极探索合作机制,通过不同形式的合作促进数据分析MOOC的发展。 相似文献

[目的/意义] 厘清转化研究测度与评估的基础理论和方法体系,推动我国转化医学评估体系的建立和基于证据的转化医学科技政策的制定以及转化医学项目、机构的科学管理。[方法/过程] 对Web of Science和PubMed收录的有关转化研究测度与评估的文献进行综述,对美国、英国提出的转化医学评估体系进行案例分析。[结果/结论] 国际上对转化研究的测度和评估主要包括两方面:一是微观层面的基于转化研究全谱段上不同属性的研究活动之间的引用网络分析或数据关联分析测度转化研究过程;二是宏观层面的转化研究影响力与绩效评估。目前转化研究的概念包括T模型和过程模型两种,前者强调转化研究的阶段和基本要素,适于从微观层面对转化研究过程进行测度;后者强调转化研究的关键步骤和里程碑式成就,适于从宏观层面对转化医学研究机构、相关专项计划或基金资助绩效进行评估。现阶段我国的转化医学应重视"在国际已有成果基础上开展转化研究"的模式,在我国重视发展转化医学的背景下,加强对具体医学领域转化研究过程的测度分析、对适合我国转化医学发展的科研成果评价体系以及转化医学研究中心绩效评估体系的研究。 相似文献

Contributor Role Ontologies and Taxonomies (CROTs) are standard vocabularies to describe individual contributions to a scholarly project or research output. Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) is one of the most widely used CROTs, and has been adopted by numerous journals to describe author's contributions, and recently formalized as a ANSI/NISO standard. Despite these developments, there is still much work left to be done to improve how CROTs are used across different research domains, research output types, and scholarly workflows. In this paper, we describe how CROTs could be extended to include roles from various disciplines in an ethical and inclusive manner. We explore potential approaches to apply CROTs to diverse research objects and various disciplines; as well as envision their integration into various scholarly workflows, such as promotion and tenure in academic institutions. Lastly, we discuss potential mechanisms for wide adoption and use. While acknowledging that improving current systems of attribution is a slow and iterative process, we believe that engaging the community in the evolution of CROTs will ultimately enhance the ethical attribution of credit and responsibilities in scholarly publications. 相似文献
