民国时期非书刊文献历史价值、学术价值非常高,是研究中国近代史的重要资料。经查询梳理,新中国成立后1021种民国时期文献的整理出版物中,非书刊文献的整理出版物有275种,占到总量约1/4,其中包括档案、公报、会议资料、政府文件、资料汇编、调查报告、统计资料、名人年谱、家谱、日记、手稿及书信等,且基本上都是2000年以后的成果。本文以时间为序,将民国时期非书刊文献的整理出版分成3个时期:民国时期非书刊文献的整理出版经历了2000年以前起始发展,2000-2010年波折发展和2010年以后波浪增长3个发展阶段。分别阐述了3个阶段里非书刊的整理出版状况与特征,呈现出的问题表现为:从文献类型看,极不平衡;从出版机构看,过于集中;从出版内容看,选题集中;从编制形式看,索引缺失4个方面。需要出版社从协调选题,加大调研,突显特色等方面进行完善。 相似文献

This article reports the findings of a survey conducted in 1986 of music collections in academic libraries of the Association of Research Libraries. There were five sections in the survey instrument: (1) General Information; (2) Staffing and Location of the Music Collection; (3) Collection Development Policies and Procedures; (4) Collection Evaluation Policies and Procedures; and (5) Tables. These sections correspond to the major questions which initiated the survey: (I) Where did Louisiana State University (LSU) rank in music holdings and budget among the respondents? AbstractWithin cataloging non-book items, literature on sports cards is limited and not rooted in academic research. Sports cards provide valuable statistical information and evidence of lineups. This article addresses the gap by examining Jefferson Burdick’s The American Card Catalog. Known as the Dewey Decimal system of trading cards, the Catalog is the preeminent resource for collecting pre-World War II cards. This article expands upon Burdick’s work and guides librarians through the building of a class number for individual sports cards. The result incorporates classification methods to support user search, and highlights the historical value of cards within library collections. 相似文献

Abstract Satellite cataloging operations using public services staff trained specifically to complete non-book cataloging are almost nonexistent or are very rarely written about in traditional library literature. A search of the literature provides little or no evidence of their existence. On the surface, they would appear to take more time, effort, and budget outlay to bring up and maintain. There are real advantages as well as some disadvantages to maintaining these operations. There is a risk as public services staff have a primary responsibility to provide public and reference services and very little time to catalog as well as eep up with the changes in cataloging rules and practice. Various digital humanities (DH) methods are increasingly being incorporated into the curricula of higher education institutions and the research undertaken in these institutions. Through semi-structured interviews conducted with eight librarians from four universities, along with observation of their actual work and investigation of the library websites, this study explored these librarians' perceptions of DH pedagogy and their understandings about the role of “DH librarian.” The findings show that the role of a DH librarian can be seen as a liaison among different stakeholders, a group of specialists, or a collective title. The importance of humanities versus technical backgrounds and the practical skills a DH librarian needs to support DH pedagogy are discussed. The findings also indicate that an ideal practice of DH pedagogy requires balanced collaboration, a clear framework, a closer partnership, ample investment in human and technical resources, and high valuation of non-book scholarship. 相似文献
