A star burns its nuclear fuel and balances gravitation by the pressure of the heated gas, during its active lifetime. After the exhaustion of the nuclear fuel, a low mass starfinds peace as a ‘white dwarf’, where the pressure support against gravitation is provided by Fermi-degenerate electrons. However, for massive stars, the gravitational squeeze becomes so severe that in the final phase of evolution, the average density approximately equals the nuclear density. At such densities, most of the protons combine with electrons to convert themselves into neutrons. A ‘neutron star’, composed of such neutron-rich material, is host to some fascinating physics arising out of its amazingly compact state of matter (where a solar mass is packed inside a sphere of radius ~ 10Km). 相似文献

The energy levels of a particle in a box are degenerate. The degeneracy of an energy level is reduced or removed on slight distortion in the dimensions of the box without changing its volume. This phenomenon is analogous to the Jahn Teller Effct, which states that in an electronically degenerate state (i.e., more than one degenerate orbital is available for an electron), a nonlinear molecule undergoes distortion to remove the degeneracy by lowering the symmetry and thus lowering the energy. 相似文献

Liquid or gaseous fuel scramjet technology has made great progress, and there has been some research attention to solid-fuel scramjet. A new scramjet configuration using solid fuel as propellant, namely solid-fuel rocket scramjet, is tested experimentally. It consists of two combustors. One is a rocket combustor used as gas generator, and the other is a supersonic combustor used for secondary combustion. The experiment simulates a flight Mach number of 4 at high altitude (stagnation temperature and pressure are 1170 K and 1.16 MPa, respectively), and metalized solid fuel is used as propellant. The results reveal that fuel-rich gas from the gas generator can burn with air in the supersonic combustor. Preliminary evaluation results show that the combustion efficiency of the propellant is about 90%, and the total pressure recovery coefficient in the supersonic combustor is about 0.6. These results indicate that the configuration of solid-fuel rocket scramjet is feasible. 相似文献

It has been shown that thin-walled hyperelastic tubes could bulge under inflation. In this paper we investigate the possibility of bulging for thin-walled tubes composed of plastoelastic/viscoelastic materials. A general bifurcation condition is derived by near-critical post-bifurcation analysis, which can degenerate into an existing special one for hyperelastic tubes. It is demonstrated that the linearly elastic and plastoelastic tubes can bulge under inflation, but viscoelastic tubes cannot bulge unless the value of inflating pressure is just equal to the one of the critical pressure for the corresponding elastic tubes. 相似文献

为减小喷油器容积腔内的压力波动,提高高压共轨喷油器喷射的稳定性,基于系统仿真软件AMEsim建立喷油器模型,分别对普通喷油器和储压喷油器进行仿真计算,并作比较。结果表明,在喷油器进油口处增加储压器能使容积腔内的压力波动明显减小。这可为喷油器的设计与开发提供依据。 相似文献
