The articles in this special section add significantly to our knowledge about the impact of ethnic and political violence on children. At the same time, these studies also illustrate some of the problems in this area and, in particular, draw attention to the many methodological difficulties researchers face in this domain. In this commentary, the authors consider both the contributions and limitations of the investigations included in this section, and make suggestions as to how the field may advance in the next decade. 相似文献

This paper explores undocumented adolescent Latina becomings that move beyond Western, white dominant cultural values and recognize egalitarian entanglements of difference. I begin by recognizing my positionality in this work that speaks to my own feminist theoretical entanglements of this project that draw upon new materialist and post-qualitative embodied, inspirited, affective becomings. In the second half of this paper, I resituate this project within a decolonizing framework that parallels discussions of feminist new materialist and post-qualitative work in an effort to begin thinking differently about educational research, schooling, and the impact of oppressive and colonizing practices on undocumented immigrant youth in this country. Finally, I do not offer this research project in the conventional qualitative structure, but am not claiming this research as post-qualitative either - as it lies somewhere in between - and resides in a liminal methodological space. 相似文献

In this paper, we identify how and why digital media production can contribute to the active participation of children in education and also consider how much of the existing work in this area is framed as a ‘miraculous’ answer to educational challenges without critical interrogation of either the process or product. To begin, we identify some of the prominent research and issues that have emerged from work of this kind and discuss the barriers to accessing equitable education in relation to new media production projects with kids. We discuss the changing state of knowledge production and communication in a new media world and address the place of literacy in this changing educational context. Following this, we present one example of a media production club and the way we look at this work to value students' productions in a way that differs from other research of this kind. 相似文献

Project-based teaching is nothing new; it originates from the work of authors like Dewey and Kilpatrick. Recent decades have seen renewed interest in this approach. In many countries, it is currently considered to be an innovative approach to science and technology (S&;T) teaching. In this article, we present a systematic review of what recent scientific publications teach us about this approach: How is this approach identified in these publications? How is the use of this approach in school S&;T justified? What are the main research questions covered by studies in the field? What do these studies on this approach teach us? To answer these questions, we have selected and analysed articles published, between 2000 and 2014, in journals that are specialised in school science and technology education and that are indexed in ERIC database. In the synthesis based on this analysis, we present: (a) the theoretical constructs used by the authors to refer to this approach and the features identified to define it; (b) the justifications for this approach; (c) the research questions covered by studies in the field; (d) the data collection and analysis methods used in these studies; and (e) the main findings. In addition to presenting a synthesis of current research in this field, we offer a critical discussion thereof with a focus on two aspects, namely the way PBSTL is conceptualised and the rigour of the research methods used to ensure the validity of findings. 相似文献

Naming a discipline is a key component in both the shaping and unpacking of its development. Still, little attention has been devoted to studying the ways in which this process has influenced Israel Education. Based on a long-term ethnographic study, this article presents Israel Education name choices and discusses the manner in which this naming unfolds and affects the development of this field. I claim that this process symbolizes a development beyond the classroom environment; reflects sociocultural and political changes in Israel-Diaspora relations; and exposes conceptual shifts in Israel pedagogy and transforms the place of Israel in Diaspora Jewish education. 相似文献

《采矿概论》是一门针对非采矿工程和安全工程专业本科生开设的通识教育必修课,通过该课程让学生们学习和认识到采矿工程中的相关专业知识和问题。但由于学生们欠缺与采矿工程相关的知识基础,因此在学习本门课程的过程中存在理解困难等问题。针对这种状况,文章作者提出将三维数值计算软件FLAC3D应用于本门课程的授课中,利用FLAC3D强大的建模能力,构建关于采矿工程问题的三维模型并在课堂上演示,以帮助学生们理解采矿工程的相关知识。在本论文中,作者以三个案例为基础,讲解了FLAC3D在课堂授课中的演示过程。 相似文献

The restructuring of formal education in Australia continues apace. Driven by economic rationalism and reflecting the language, practices and strategies of management in business and industry, this restructuring, we are assured, is going to result in high‐quality education and teacher accountability. In our view, this rhetoric of quality assurance and accountability is being used to mask a deep and fundamental shift in both the focus of education to be provided in Australia and the roles of teachers and teacher educators. To lift this mask and expose the nature of this shift requires an examination of the context in which this restructuring is occurring, the use of the term ‘quality assurance’ and education in relation to government actions. 相似文献

One major obstacle for integrating the history of mathematics in teaching (hereafter referred to as IHT) is how to help teachers, particularly those who lack experience in IHT, use historical materials in their teaching. Based on many IHT practices in Shanghai, this paper proposes an IHT framework including two parts: one is a triangular pyramid IHT model, and the other is a design-based IHT procedure. The pyramid model is composed of three different communities: teachers, researchers, and historians of mathematics. The design-based procedure, also called operating model, includes cyclic stages, which are investigation, design, implementation, assessment, and publication. The primary purpose of this framework is to build a bridge between theory and practice by combining the two models to address particular teaching concerns and improve teaching. In addition, this paper details the process of the dynamic pyramid model and the design-based IHT procedure, and illustrates an example of the application of this framework. Finally, this paper discusses the differences and similarities between this model and others and also discusses the challenge of applying this model in practice. 相似文献

在高校研究生扩招背景下,毕业生人数与就业岗位需求之间的矛盾日益凸显,研究生就业指导教育应发挥重要作用。就业指导课程是高校做好就业指导教育的重要抓手和载体,然而,目前国内高校在研究生就业指导课程的开展中存在诸多问题。基于对74名高校教师和383名研究生的调查,分析当前高校研究生就业指导课程开展现状,发现学校重视程度不高、尚未清晰认识到开设课程的必要性和迫切性、研究生需求多元化以及师资队伍建设有待加强等问题,针对当前现状提出相关的改革路径。 相似文献

Working specifically from the authors location in a working class urban teacher education program in the United States, this paper argues for the examination and problematization of one foundational archetype of a teacher in North America: the (white) Lady Bountiful. Incorporating discussions of the historical colonial contexts that produced this archetype and the ideologies she represents, this paper argues that the persistence of this image in popular culture, in teacher education programs, and beyond, contributes to a climate that makes it difficult to address white supremacy, heteronormativity and social class issues in teacher education programs. In addition, the endurance of this archetype can 'prohibit' certain bodies from entering the teaching profession. 相似文献
