本文以《领导学基础》教学中开展的专题讨论为例,探讨了实施专题讨论教学模式的可行性,建立了多种教学媒介参与和交互作用的“导学—自学—讨论—反馈”专题讨论教学模式,并用模糊综合评价法进行测量评价,以检验这种教学模式在教学中的有效度,最后提出了实施专题讨论教学模式必须注意的一些问题。  相似文献

由教育部人事司和《中国高等教育》编辑部共同主办的专题讨论“笔谈党委领导下的校长负责制”历时一年多的时间,就要结束了。这次讨论,参与人数之多,讨论问题之深入,在高校反映之热烈,都是前所未有的。这次讨论的一个特点就是,许多高等学校的党委书记和校长以亲身经历,谈了在这个体制下工作的体会,文章可读、可亲、可信。这是一场富有深刻意义的讨论,通过讨论人们总结了经验,提高了认识,理清了思路,活动取得了预期的效果。在笔谈活动结束之际,《中国高等教育》编辑部的同志约我写篇文章,作为这次专题讨论的结束语。我的这篇文章,也算是一位普通读者参与这次笔谈活动吧。  相似文献

本刊从1982年第4期开展“上好一堂中学历史课的标准是什么”专题讨论以来,读者纷纷来稿来函,有些省市还围绕本刊讨论,组织了学术讨论会和报告会,在教育界也引起了一定的反响,说明这场讨论是很有必要的。本刊编辑部对关心、支持讨论的同志们表示热忱的谢意!在这一期上,我们刊出了扬帆同志的文章,想以此作为这次讨论的一个小结。当然,就这次讨论的问题而言,特别是如何提高历史教学质量的问题,还有待继续深入研讨。我们切望广大中学历史教师、历史教学法研究工作者和其他读者继续为本刊撰稿,为开创历史教学的新局面,共同奋斗。  相似文献

Medical care in nursing homes is not provided by board-licensed geriatricians; it mainly comes from physicians in need of educational programs in the field of geriatrics. Such programs, based on curriculum guidelines, should be developed. The purpose of this study was to seek input from nursing home physicians on their perceived needs for training in geriatrics. A mail questionnaire survey was sent to nursing home physicians regarding their opinion on the most needed subjects and preferred training methods. Of the 210 surveys mailed, 132 (63%) were returned. More than a quarter of the respondents had not had any kind of geriatric medical education. A desire for geriatric training was evident, preferably in the form of courses and periodic seminars. Use of medications, infectious diseases, depression, dementia and cardiac disorders were the most important topics indicated by the respondents. These data can be of help in preparing the curriculum for a continuous medical education program in geriatrics, preferably in the form of courses and periodic seminars.  相似文献

This paper describes the various activities undertaken by an educational institution as it seeks through a R & D project to improve the quality of life (and learning) in a rural community in The Philippines. Although the subject matter focus is on science education (biology), the project staff became involved in several activities which were only remotely related to biological education, but more closely related to the immediate concerns of the community; these concerns were mainly related to the economic and individual welfare. Efforts to bridge the gap between the community and classroom are described, including educational activities for adults of the community, identifying topics for in‐service seminars of teachers, educational activities for children. Some major principles of lifelong education are then reviewed, and implications to educators are then drawn.  相似文献

This article investigates the educational value of research studied by exploring the influence on a range of religious education professionals from a set of research seminars. The seminar series, sponsored by the Westhill Endowment Trust, has been running since 2004, bringing together teachers, advisors and higher education professionals working on religious education in UK schools and internationally. The seminars have been intended to develop the relationship between research and professionals, and they have generated a number of publications. Eleven seminars involving a total of 167 participants are analysed in terms of what participation in the seminars may have influenced (the professionals, pupils, schools), which aspects of the seminars were influential and why the seminars were influential. This article describes the process of developing appropriate methods to investigate both the influence of research seminars and the results of their use. The research includes a questionnaire and follow-up interviews. The most significant indications show that the seminars influenced pupils in schools and professionals; the publications from the seminars had a distinctive influence, and spending time to think and discuss about religious education was at least as influential as the presentations by researchers.  相似文献

Summary Modules One, Two, and Three have been a required part of the seminars for the past eight years at Purdue University Calumet. It has been the experience of this university, that the students feel more comfortable in seminar with the small group setting. Since the EML/IRC is open 67 hours a week including evenings and Saturday, the students find they are better able to schedule their time to complete Modules One, Two, and Three in an independent manner. Faculty feel the seminars and modules are successful because instructors take on more of a leadership role in the seminar and leave the expertise of media to the Educational Media Lab/Instructional Resource Center. Specified topics are covered in each seminar class to ensure the students are exposed to topics and problems relevant to their future teaching experiences. Revisions are made on the Module booklets to ensure the students are aware of new equipment and technology. It is through these seminars and module experiences that the students can begin to grow and prepare for their teaching profession.  相似文献

研讨课题的选择对于Seminar课程(研讨课)的教学安排、教学效果具有重要意义。结合近年来开设的课程《电力系统中的控制问题》,针对此类交叉性Seminar课程,提出了以课题链的方式来确定研讨课题,并进而组织教学内容的教学方式。具体讲,先将不同专业的学生,结合课程所涉及的各研究领域,分成若干小组。每个小组围绕一个研究领域内几个相互有关、层层递进的课题(即课题环)展开研讨。这几个课题环一起就构成了一个课题链,整个班级的教学就围绕着这若干个课题链开展。整体上,课题链教学方式有利于教师因材施教,有利于学生自主学习空间的扩展,也有利于不同专业背景学生之间的交流。几年来的实际教学效果表明,此教学方式十分适合交叉性Seminar课程的教学。  相似文献

A series of faculty development seminars at Haverford College has been designed to address the issue of keeping science faculty teaching and research up-to-date, while building bridges between departments. To ensure coverage of emerging areas of science, we have elected to train existing faculty in new methods using a series of workshops for which faculty receive either teaching release time or stipends. The goals of these seminars include developing faculty expertise in important new topics and methodologies, stimulating the inclusion of these skills into their research and the curriculum, and broadening the scope of teaching and research collaborations. The initial three workshops have been targeted at areas of particular concern: boosting faculty expertise in scientific computing, bioinformatics, and issues surrounding the relationship of science and society. The seminar format has been designed to foster dialogue between different departments, as well as individual faculty, by including time for informal conversations and shared workshops, and by requiring collaborative curricular projects. The initial focus on the natural sciences has broadened into topics of interest to faculty in the social sciences and humanities.  相似文献

Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the Greek beekeepers' educational needs. A questionnaire was mailed to 1000 beekeepers selected at random from a list of subscribers to a beekeeping journal published monthly. The questionnaire consisted of 16 items related to course instruction and other questions regarding their demographic characteristics.

For data analysis three statistical techniques were used: (i) factor analysis, (ii) Kruskal-Wallis test and (iii) Mann-Whitney U test. From the factor analysis, the 16 items related to course instruction were grouped into four factors indicating beekeepers' preference on those topics. Using demographic characteristics, beekeepers' preference to educational needs was identified.

It is necessary to provide a quality education for adult beekeepers which must be flexible enough to meet the needs of farmers and which is also supported by the local community. The findings aided authors in recommending procedures for the organisation of future seminars meaningful for the Greek beekeepers.  相似文献

This short essay proposes establishing faculty-led advising seminars for advisees in order to increase the effectiveness of the academic advising system. Through the seminars, the advising function would be integrated into the course-credit system, thus enhancing the perceived importance of advising for faculty and students alike. Also through the seminars, students would systematically study and reflect on the nature of higher education, thereby creating firmer bases for choices. After briefly describing the organization and operation of such a system, the essay explores some of its implications for coherence and cumulative qualities of students' educational experiences, the distribution of teaching responsibilities among faculty, and faculty development and colleagueship.He is the author of two books on Latin American economic development and history and of numerous articles on economics, history, and higher education.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Institutions of higher education are becoming increasingly dependent on external seminars to corporate employees as a means of meeting a growing number of business needs. As the variety of seminars expands, questions concerning the optimal seminar format must be addressed. The current, empirical study investigates seminar format preferences based on survey respondents' managerial level. Input is analyzed from three levels of manager: executives, mid-level managers, and supervisors. The results of the study indicate that there are certain strong preferences which managers at all levels share in regard to seminar format. In addition, several significant differences exist between the preferences of managers at the three organizational levels. Recommendations are given as to how universities can best develop and market seminars to the business public.  相似文献
