With the development of modern open and distance education, which is characterized by Web-based instruction, Web-based assessment, and Web-based research. Web-based learning support services are considered as the most essential inputs for digital immigrants, which offer ground for them to produce considerable outputs so as to achieve better learning outcomes. This paper examines the current situation of digital immigrants in Yunnan Open University （YNOU）, with significance of finding out specific problems so as to provide effective learning support services to solve the problems in the process of open and distance learning. Open and distance education is the instruction under digital technology by using computer as a key means of media. A digital immigrant is an individual who was born before the existence of digital technology and adopted it to some extent later in life. For considering the outreach location of Yunnan, digital immigrants are at their suitable ages of studying. Some of them cannot understand the value of digital technology completely, and some fail to implement modern technology into their daily lives. Drawing on such findings, Web-based learning support services in YNOU for digital immigrants are significantly worth studying, because they are definitely related with successful learning outcomes in order to achieve the new vision of YNOU, a newly-built open and distance university in the year of 2012. ＂Learning is ‘open＇ to everyone, study occurs by anyone, anytime, and anywhere＂ by making education accessible to all. 协同学习是远程教学的薄弱环节。为了探索协同学习的有效途径，我们在远程英语教学中进行网上协同学习试验。从问卷调查、访谈和统考成绩可以看出，在教师以多角色参与和指导下的网上协同学习形式更符合远程教育的特点和规律，受到了学生的欢迎，也取得了可喜的学习效果。试验的结果表明，网络环境下的协同学习是远程外语教学的一个重要组成部分，对教学质量的提高有积极的促进作用。 相似文献

Web-based education has been enjoying greater popularity because of its undeniable advantages. It has been seen as a panacea by more and more people in educational field, including language teaching. Based on the realization of the great potential brought by the development of technology, some viewpoints about the relationship among technology, teaching and pedagogy are put forward: firstly, technology is a tool, not a strategy; secondly, pedagogical concerns and theory should drive the way technology is used in education, not the other way around; thirdly, what matters more than technology is how the technology is used for learning, and how it is integrated into the daily classroom scheme so that active engagement in acquisition-oriented work take place; and finally, the change of learning environment inevitably calls for parallel changes in teaching and learning procedures. Available technologies can greatly enhance both student-teacher and student-student interaction and can afford students increased opportunities for self directed learning. To be most effective, technology must be used to support well-planned curricular goals and should involve carefully designed activities providing students with meaningful educational experiences. 相似文献

Web-based learning environments are now used extensively as integral components of course delivery in tertiary education. To provide an effective learning environment, it is important that educators understand how these environments are used by their students. In conventional teaching environments educators are able to obtain feedback on student learning experiences in face-to-face interactions with their students, enabling continual evaluation of their teaching programs. However, when students work in electronic environments, this informal monitoring is not possible; educators must look for other ways to attain this information. Capturing and recording student interactions with a website provides a rich source of information from data that is gathered unobtrusively. The aim of this study was firstly to explore what information can be gained from analysing student interactions with Web-based learning environments and secondly to determine the value of this process in providing information about student learning behaviours and learning outcomes. This study has provided critical information to educators about the learning behaviour of their students, informing future enhancements and developments to a courseware website and the teaching program it supports. 相似文献
