This paper reviews the literatures about bilingual education and the implication in China's higher education institutions,which aims to survey the views on bilingual education,and to find efficient ways to carry out bilingual teaching in China.Findings from this literature review could help teachers to adopt appropriate strategies in bilingual classrooms.  相似文献

Ongoing globalisation processes call forth a need to foster students' intercultural competences and language skills. Simultaneously, teachers face an increasing diversity of students' first languages and cultures within classrooms, demanding responsive and integrative practices from them which address all students. Bilingual education is one possible format in which these challenges can be met; however, it requires a high level of teacher professionalism. This systematic literature review harvests international research on bilingual education teachers published between 1995 and 2020. It compares frameworks and research on bilingual education teachers’ required competences for secondary education and generates a professional competence model for bilingual education teachers. This systematic review of 79 individual reports identifies a total of 16 converging competences, many focusing on language proficiency and pedagogical/psychological knowledge. Furthermore, it yields important implications for bilingual teacher training such as the fostering of (academic) language proficiency, cooperation skills and knowledge of bilingual education research.  相似文献

从我国民族地区数学课程教材改革、双语教学、学生数学学习心理研究、跨文化数学教育理论研究与方法等方面综述了我国近20年来跨文化数学教育研究取得的成就。目前,对我国少数民族学生数学学习心理研究已达到较高水准,数学课堂的跨文化教育实验研究——中小学"数学情境与提出问题"教学实验颇具中国特色并在实践层面产生重要影响。进一步还需研究构建符合少数民族学生思维特点的数学课程体系,编写民族文字数学教材,加强少数民族双语数学教学研究与高素质双语教师队伍建设。  相似文献

The present paper synthesizes the international research literature on the educational achievement of immigrant and minority language students by articulating three propositions for which there is strong empirical evidence: (a) print access and literacy engagement play a key role in promoting reading comprehension; (b) the development of bilingual students?? L1 proficiency plays a positive role in L2 academic development; and (c) societal power relations play a direct causal role in promoting school failure among students from subordinated communities. This interpretation of the empirical evidence is contrasted with the conclusions of recent North American and European reviews. For example, the comprehensive review of literacy development among minority students conducted in the United States by the National Literacy Panel on Language-Minority Children and Youth acknowledged the legitimacy of bilingual education as a policy option but said very little about the role of literacy engagement in promoting reading comprehension. By contrast, various reports of the Programme for International Student Achievement (PISA) conducted by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) highlighted the importance of reading engagement for reading achievement but discounted bilingual education as a feasible or realistic policy option. The instructional implications of the present review include the need for educators to promote print access and literacy engagement, teach for cross-lingual transfer, and affirm students?? identities in classroom interactions.  相似文献

我国少数民族地区的双语教育已经实施多年,其成效理应得到评估和反思;通过对少数民族双语教育成效进行调查研究,可以进一步促进少数民族双语教育的发展。中缅边境地区是颇具代表性的一个民族地区,对这一地区的双语教育成效加以考察,可以窥知全国少数民族双语教育的得失,而目前关于此地的这类研究尚属空白。我们认为,开展中缅边境地区少数民族双语教育成效的调查研究,是很有必要且可行的。  相似文献

Mathematics teaching and subject‐matter acquisition of two groups of linguistic minority students were studied; one in a minolingual second‐language class and the other in a traditional bilingual‐education model in the city of Oslo, Norway. The background of attempts at bilingual education in the Norwegian context is presented, and some aspects of bilingual education, bilingual pedagogy and research‐based perspectives on the role of bilingual education in subject‐matter acquisition is discussed. On the basis of an empirical study of the teaching situation of linguistic‐minority students it is concluded that linguistic‐minority students profit from bilingual mathematics teaching. The empirical research results indicate that linguistic‐minority students (LMSs) with a bilingual‐education (BE) background can achieve as good or better results in mathematics as monolingual students. The strength of bilingual education can therefore be said to reside in the favourable conditions that it creates for the comprehension of linguistic‐minority students of the content taught. By creating favourable conditions bilingual subject‐matter teaching also fulfils minorities’ expectations of participating in content‐area instruction: to understand what is being communicated in subject‐matter teaching and to learn what is normally expected to be learned in subject‐matter teaching. It is therefore legitimate to argue for bilingual education on pedagogical grounds without the support of old‐fashioned anthropological or psychological arguments.  相似文献

基于生态学视域对少数民族双语教育的研究进行研究的首要前提是,根据生态学的基本理论,少数双语教育可以被视为一个由与少数双语教育相关的不同构成成分、不同组织层次按照一定的方式,整体联系、动态整合,并发挥各自功能的复杂有机整体——即一个生态系统。其次,根据生态学的理论可以明确,对少数民族双语教育生态系统的研究就是将少数民族双语教育与该民族的自然环境、社会环境和规范环境等复合生态环境联系起来,探究少数民族双语教育的生态功能,揭示少数民族双语教育生态的基本规律,研究少数民族双语教育与其周围生态环境之间相互作用的规律和机理。以生态学为视域,建构在上述基础之上对少数民族双语教育研究的研究,其实质就是运用生态学的原理和方法,审慎反思少数民族双语教育与其周围生态环境之间相互作用的规律和机理的相关研究成果,以期继往开来,推动少数民族双语教育的研究沿着科学、严谨、理性的轨道演进,最终达到优化少数民族双语教育生态,协调促进少数民族双语教育协同发展的目的。在本文中,运用生态学的理论和方法,以少数民族双语教育为核心,按照与少数民族双语教育内在逻辑关系的密切程度,从少数民族双语教育与生态环境之间的关系,与少数民族双语教育的生态环境相关的研究,外语双语教育与生态环境之间的关系等三个方面开展研究。  相似文献

This article starts with a review of definitions of bilingualism. It then discusses the definition of bilingual education with its focus on the analysis of bilingual competence. It is subsequently suggested that a theoretical hard nut to be cracked in today’s bilingual research is to establish the scope of discussion of bilingualism models meeting the specific needs in a specific context instead of simple acceptance of the current EFL teaching models learned from other countries or regions.  相似文献

我国内地双语教学研究始于1986年,然自2001年以来始出现蓬勃发展局面。截至2004年,《中国期刊全文数据库》收录的关于英语/汉语双语教学论文共233篇。通过对这些论文进行综合分析,可以清晰地看出双语教学的研究路向、文献分布及其作者构成,这对于我们总结认识双语教学研究存在的问题以及探索未来发展方向是十分必要的。  相似文献

美国双语教育近年来引起了我国学者的关注,但是少有学者对此掌握第一手的资料,因而缺乏系统的观点.本文根据笔者对美国双语教育项目的亲身参与,①系统阐述了美国双语教育的历史与现状,并对双语政策的演变进行了反思.笔者认为虽然移民潮、国际环境变化、国内政局交替等因素直接推动了双语教育政策的演变,但是这些外在条件只是起到了催化剂的作用,双语教育争辩的真正根源在于不同的语言取向和语言意识形态.  相似文献
