The planning, development, and organization of a one-day or multiple-day conference is time consuming, challenging, and requires a well-prepared framework. This article discusses the guidelines and strategies developed by the Southeast Florida Library Information Network Reference Committee for the organization of a successful local conference. These guidelines offer a model for any organization that is planning a conference and for incorporating future events into the planning process. They also serve as a collaborative model for what a regional network can achieve toward promoting and providing professional development and leadership opportunities for its libraries, librarians, and library staff.  相似文献

针对学生学术规范教育缺失的问题,提出以文献检索与利用课为平台开展大学生学术规范训练的方案。利用“学术研讨会”这一活动形式,将文献检索、资料利用、学术规范三部分内容有机地串接起来,为学生营造一个学用结合的场景,引导学生对学术规范进行探究性学习。实践证明文检课可以成为也应该成为学生学术规范训练的有效平台。  相似文献

The Book Culture Club at Hong Kong Baptist University goes beyond the traditional book talk format. Its vision is to nurture a culture that values reading, writing, and publishing books through a synergistic approach among the library, authors, potential authors, and publishers. Since its inauguration in early 2009, the club has offered eighteen programs and has attracted more than 1,200 attendees by March 2013. In this article, the author will describe how the Book Culture Club was formed, present a series of activities conducted, describe how events are prepared and implemented, discuss successful outcomes and offer reflections thereon, and demonstrate how good outreach initiatives for connecting many various parties can produce a long-lasting impact in an academic setting.  相似文献

提高研究素养是图书馆从业人员和图情院系学生都面临的挑战。在2019年8月22~23日的IFLA Journal研讨会上,国际图情期刊编辑与各国代表就如何在国际期刊发表论文、如何像讲故事一样研究与写作、如何设计和评估研究以及如何认识学术规范等方面进行了交流与对话。文章回顾该次会议议题及其讨论,以期对我国图情研究和研究者如何成功地在国际图情期刊上发表论文有所启示。  相似文献

首先梳理综合集成研讨厅体系的基本思路和关键问题,然后,分析基于Internet的综合集成研讨厅的基本思想、体系结构,并对其中存在的多个专家之间、多个计算机之间、人与计算机之间缺乏对领域知识的共识,计算机不理解知识的语义内容和语义联系,缺少计算机可理解的规则系统,知识处理单位的非原子性和缺少前端控制五个问题进行重点研究。最后,结合语义Web知识处理的特征,提出基于语义Web的综合集成研讨的基本思路、体系结构和研讨模式。   相似文献

Distance librarians working with an online doctoral program at Johns Hopkins University are asked by both students and faculty to provide a large amount of library support – without being embedded into the curriculum or the individual courses. Program administrators and faculty were resistant to allow librarians into the course management system (CMS), denying them access to discussion boards, assignment updates, and course content, but still expected a high level of student support. Over a three-year period, librarians respond by creating a “halo” of library services to support students at point of need that existed outside of the CMS, but was still highly integrated into the program. Librarians explore the importance of scaffolding and linking disparate services to complement each other, building a halo of support. Student need is at the center of the plan, focusing on collaborative teaching and reflection as well as student centered learning.  相似文献

针对当前知识管理理论研究中存在的两大瓶颈,分析网络环境下知识共享行为的新特征,借鉴长尾理论、自组织论、语义Web技术和综合集成方法,首次提出一种全新的知识管理理念——大规模人机协同知识管理。大规模人机协同知识管理的基本思想包括集体智慧、自组织、综合集成以及适度公开组织内部知识;在知识处理的范围、知识共享和创新的驱动力、组织知识是否对外保密、知识主体之间的合作关系、知识组织技术、知识处理方式等方面与传统知识管理具有不同的特征;技术上依赖语义Web和Web20的集成——综合集成研讨厅。最后以KiWi项目为案例,探讨了基于语义Web的知识处理模式和框架的合理性。图6。表5。参考文献34。  相似文献

This article describes a project using a student-created LibGuide in conjunction with a literature review assignment for a research course. This collaborative project between a librarian and a professor of International Education was designed and implemented as an avenue for teaching information literacy and to encourage use of library resources. The methodology for the assignment is presented, and the results of the project are discussed in terms of the final products and student reviews. Implications for the use of student-created LibGuides in academic institutions and future directions for this project are presented.  相似文献

This article examines the practical ways of handling Internet connectivity challenges in a typical university academic library setting in Nigeria, using Kenneth Dike Library (KDL), University of Ibadan, as a case study. Both internal and external factors are responsible for the challenges being experienced in terms of Internet connectivity in KDL. The current state of Internet connectivity within the KDL is presented. Also discussed are an overview of the previous model of Local Area Network (LAN) within the KDL, the challenges associated with the previous model, an overview of the new LAN model and discussion/way forward. In this article a relational database schema for a bibliometric database is developed. After the introduction explaining the motivation to use relational databases in bibliometrics, an overview of the related literature is given. A review of typical bibliometric questions serves as an informal requirement analysis. The database schema is developed as an entity-relationship diagram using the structural information typically found in scientific articles. Several SQL queries for the tasks presented in the requirement analysis show the usefulness of the developed database schema.  相似文献
